Rocker Panel install trouble??? Please help.
So I had some surface rust building on the lower rocker panel that I finally addressed last weekend. Grinded it off and did it properly (in my eyes anyway...ha ha). I'm not into the car for much so I didn't want to spend alot of money but the good thing is that I got rid of the rust. Thankfully it wasn't through the body and was able to grind it off and then address it further so it won't rust down the road.
Anyway while doing this I had to take the lower rocker panel off. I got it off okay but I am having a hard time re-installing it.
The top white clips are straight forward enough, it's the bottom screw things that I am having trouble with. I literally have no clue how the go back in. Seems like the round base is too big for the hole underneath the car where they go.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've also taken some pics, here you go.
thanks?
It has to be unscrewed to go in. Also there should be a metal screw on each side as well(front and back)
This is what the plastic ones look like.
Its kind of like those plastic things you put into a wall when putting screws in.
And yes this car as you can see was driven in our canadian winters so I addressed about 4 rust spots (the picture being the worse one by far) and I have taken care of it.
I'm not a pro by any standard but feel it looks ok to drive down the street.
Car is a driver car and not a show car. Mechanically I am quite proud of it.
AFter all my posts back in the winter when I first got and all the help you guys gave me, until now I am quite proud of it.
I daily drive it to work on most days, and to be honest it's more comfortable and just as fun as my Vette Z06, and I usually pick this over that. That says alot of where this car has come from.
