Switch engine in c36 amg
Is it possible to put an E36 amg engine and gearbox into and c36 body? I dont have an engine code or year modell but will it fit and will the ECU for engine and gearbox work with this? I think it was a 4 speed in my c36 and its a 5 speed in the E36 amg

I assume you're not in the US since we never had officially the E36 AMG available here.
But, back to your question, yes, you can swap the engine into your C36. Both C36 and E36 have the same M104 engine.
If you have a C36 with a blown engine, easiest is to swap the engine, keep the original C36 4-speed transmission and done. Your C36 ECU will work fine with the E36 engine.
If you want to use the 5-speed auto transmission from the E36 then that's not a plug-n-play solution. Mechanically it'll all fit, but electrical is different. I would choose a transmission standalone system from www.ofgear.dk for example.
But, if you have access to a 5-speed manual transmission, I'd rather do a manual swap in the C36.
And my last note: if you indeed have access to an original E36 AMG, I would suggest to keep and restore the E36. The E36 has far more value than a C36.
