Correct Trade-In Please?
Kelly Blue Book - $24,000
NADA - $28,000
Edmunds - $30,000
kbb, and nada etc. it's all relative value
they're just supposed to give you an idea not exact thing.
in the past few years i'd say about 3-4 years blue book means nothing in the used car sales industry
because of such a huge inventory out there used cars always sell for under blue book
it's all about supply and demand and negotiating skills
what i'd recommend is if you really do want to get rid of your rare beast is
1). check out the car you want to get next-dont ever mention that you want to trade in, if asked say scuze me but i'm focusing on this car now so please let me know your bottom $ that you let this car go otherwise you go somewhere else, don't let the wolves get a hold of you.
2). negotiate on the price of your new ride, again don't mention trade in or financing or cash or anything say gimme rock bottom price, and put it on paper have em initial
3). once you have them agree with you on a price for that car, then you bring in your trade in, tell them exactly what you want for it (think on the high side since they are trying to get rid of their vehicle as well). if they don't agree tell them you don't either and walk out, they'll call you don't worry if they are under pressure; if they do agree then you know what to do
i'm sure you know all this but just trying to help and not let people get ripped off by stealers.
they should make no money off of people for selling cars, they make their profit in service and parts anyway ;p

btw that's one rare rare beast
i only can wish i was in the position to get one atm
