22 X3, 21 330e, 97 M3, 97 C36 (sold), but on the hunt for a clean, low-mile C43!
LOL, sorry bro, I didn't see your response stating that you're interested...I only saw the one where you made it sound like you weren't interested because it's on the west coast. You definitely have first dibs, I won't jack you. I'm not in a rush to buy anyway, so go ahead and see what you can work out with the guy and let me know if it doesn't.

BTW, have you seen this badboy (no affiliation)? Sounds like a true MB transmission conversion. Hmmm...although it looks pretty sweet, I'm not really interested in the car so much as those 3-piece Brabus wheels. Damn, I'd love me a set of those!!!

hey bud, i'm in south OC, about an hour from LA. if he were a little closer, sure i'd go check it out for you, but an hour...that's a tad too far to make a leisure drive. sorry man...but I thought that one other forum member, aznkid or something, wasn't he going to go check it out for you?

seems like a good buy. get that PPI done before you send money, buy a ticket or whatever. give the mechanic the VIN so you know it's the same car.
i don't have a problem with cashier's check but that seems like an in person transaction. do you have any family out there that can take care of it? do any of your close friends have any family out there?
otherwise maybe think about hiring a bonded agent, I'd guess California has a lot of guys dealing with car sales. Don't be pennywise, pound foolish, pay the extra money to ensure a smooth transaction.
back when I was in graduate school I flew out to Minnesota from Miami to pick up a mazda. the guy selling it to me had a shop though and he also had a small fleet of mazdas. buying a used car in Miami is ridiculous, all the cars are seriously abused down there.
Anyway, he was very well known all over the board that I frequented and I decided to take the risk, everything worked out with a bit of due diligence. if you like the car, the price is right, make sure all your ducks line up and execute.
