Manual transmission conversions for our babies
Just found this page on FB. Some guys have made available manual 6 speed transmission conversions for automatic AMGs. Thought it could be interesting for us on this page.

This is our dual to single mass conversion flywheel and clutch combination for the Mercedes M112 and M113 engine. We can offer manual conversions with fitting available at our workshop in Cornwall. We can convert all those AMG vehicles that should have come with a manual option including the W202 C36, C43, and C55 AMG, the W203 C32 and C55 AMG, W210 E430 and E55 AMG. We also have M111, M102, M103, M104, M117 and M119 timing markers available for those older cars wanting to use a 6 speed box. Each flywheel is machined from billet chromoly steel and retains the OEM timing markers. The clutch is a custom Sachs unit made to our specification to retain the damping function of a friction disc from a single mass clutch set without any sacrifice in performance or longevity in the clutch or gearbox. We've seen many other cheaper units prematurely fail due to the springs not being up to the rated specified torque, once compressed the hub rides on the rivets and the clutch acts as a solid unsprung unit. Our clutch is rated for 700NM of torque. This particular unit is on its way to a nice chap in Australia who is also building a restomod 190E55, we're looking forward to seeing this project progress.

Likely the six speed that bolts up the M112, which came in the SLK320, W203 C320, and the Chrysler Crossfire.

Thanks for this timely info DRB, I'm just starting my conversion with the 5.5 but realized the V6 DM is not a very good option and may run on the stops under wot. also, the later pressure plates are mostly auto adjust so difficult to re-spring.
I really didn't want to run SM because want luxury smooth drive but this looks the most likely solution.
imo the best box for the M113 is 716.664 400Nm, from 171 SLk350(3.7L) unfortunately the flywheels with this box use the new crank bolt pattern so you are stuck there(there was a transaction from the old stud pattern in some models but the flywheels are NLA and not made aftermarket)
There was a trans made for the SL 3.7L with manual/electro shift rated for 440Nm but clutch parts are NLA and you wouldn't want the electro trans.
If you have 4 finger clk55 prop with CLK/E55 diff, can use CL600 front half its within 5mm right length for the 716.664 in the w202. painful trial and error finding this

Small update on this, after looking through flywheel design have decided not to convert to manual(after acquiring every part except the flywheel) The design really needs to have a dual mass incorporated, a single mass flywheel will destroy the box and possibly other parts from torsional harmonics in no time, especially with the M113 55 low rpm torque(yes there is good reason you only see a torque converter on these) I thought possibly could run the 112 flywheel with sprung hub for 500+nm, however the dual mass is tuned for hamonics of the 6 banger and is just not suitable torque wise.
