Camshaft Position Sensor Mismatch
My original 3.2L used a Hall Effect 3-wire Camshaft Position Sensor with a semi-round tab on the sprocket gear. The 3.6L AMG engine continued to use the magnetic 2-wire Camshaft Position Sensor. So my ECU is not reading the camshaft position with the Hall Effect 3-wire sensor with the triangular magnetic tab on the actual Camshaft Advance sprocket.
Is there any way to convert or wire my existing system to use the 2-wire sender instead of the 3-wire sender?
Otherwise, it appears that I will have to remove the existing Camshaft Advance and weld a readable tab on the sprocket gear itself.
