LED lighting

Because my C43 has a CANBus wiring system, I purchased a CANBus compatible replacement 1156 led lamp when my brake lamp burned out. It works great as a lamp (very bright) but I am still getting a lamp out indicator on the dash.
Has anyone else converted any of their lamps to led with success? I would like to eventually replace all incandescent lamps with leds, but it may mean a constant lamp out warning? Any advise?
i am going to ask Superbrightleds.com as well, I have had good service from them in the past.

BTW, I changed both rear brake lamps at the same time.

There are led bulbs and led bulbs and some will give warnings and others not. I guess you need to choose carefully your bulb supplier. My daily workhorse Renault Twingo has second generation led bulbs everywhere except for the headlights and NO faults warnings. The older ones did give often faulty warnings.

LED's from Aznoptics in both my C43 and E63 with no issues at all.

thanks, 503, I guess I will order a pair from Aznoptics and try. They are a bit more, 30/pair, vs 18/ pair, but if they work it’s still a good plan...
the ones I have are a constant lamp fail warning.

right you are. Really disappointing as the ones I bought were specifically for CANBus applications, and cost a bit more than standard too..👎

Hey John,

don’t bother. I tried out a few LED bulbs In my clk. The low amp draw of LED draw compared to the incandescent OE creates an error. The system doesn’t recognize such a low draw.

I got a few in my shop, glad to send you if you want. Other forum members may disagree or have workaround.

zill.
