Assistance with sourcing body panels?
Hi Folks - If anyone would be able to provide some good suggestions, you may (almost literally) save my life! I recently hit my wife's most prized possession (99 C43 paint code 744) while in the driveway. It's been garaged kept, for it's entire life, never driven in snow, etc.. It has under 40k and in near mint condition.
I need two body components (trunk lid and rear bumper plastic overlay). If I can find these two parts in Brilliant Silver (paint code 744), this should bring it back to original condition. I've found these W202 parts from other models (C230, etc), but none a 744 paint code. If I need to, I'll have the parts resprayed to 744, but hoping to find exact replacements.
The specific questions I have are:
1) Does anyone know if 744 paint was available on other W202 models, or was it reserved for the 98, 99, 00 C43 model years?
2) Are there special web sites, boards, etc for finding older model Mercedes parts? I've been using Ebay, Craigs List, etc, but I'm betting there's other social media options I'm not aware of.
Thanks for any assistance you may be able to provide..

Are these parts not repairable? If you're going to repaint replacements (if you can't get 744), then why not repair and repaint? You can also order these parts from MB (a post a few months ago said the bumper cover is available)...but the bumper will cost you a pretty penny.

To my surprise, I'm finding several trunk lids and bumper covers available on Ebay, etc under the W202 body. A few have been paint 744.. So the parts and paint code seem to be available for fair prices $200 to $500. So now it boils down to finding the perfect parts
Thanks for your suggestions,
