98 C43 - Alpine CM2396 C Connector Pin-Out
Looking for the pin-out for the "C" connector on my CM2396 tape deck. This is the connector that is for the Bose amp and CD Changer. I'm installing the Continental TR7412UB-OR. The "A" (power pins) and "B" (speaker pins) are both well defined for both the Mercedes and TR7412UB but the "C" connector for the Mercedes is not. With "A" and "B" plugged in I'm getting power and the radio appears to work but NO sound. I suspect I need a signal sent to one of the pins on the "C" connector to power on the amp. Unfortunately Continental doesn't provide much info on the pin-out for their 3rd connector (labeled "C-D-E") either - only the "A" and "B" which are roughly similar to the Mercedes harness and easy to adapt.
Found several sources showing same as below - but nothing for the top "C" connector. Google failed me as it seems like all the other posts and videos are for installs in cars without the Bose amp.
Figured I'd ask before pulling out the multi-meter.
Also - anyone know the industry name for the 3 connectors? Thinking of making an adapter harness vs. moving the pins around and/or splicing.
Could you elaborate on what you did? I am having similar troubles myself as I installed the same radio on my 98 sl500 and my subwoofer doesn’t seem to be working. I had left out the c connector as it didn’t plug to the radio
