C36 Speaker size~??

I am finally upgrading my sound system!

Picked up 2 pair of 6 1/2 inch MB Quad for the rear dash, rear door, another 6 1/2 inch Component for the front tweeter& door since that was the size I used for my old C220 (I think).....

Before I even received my parts, the local audio shop tech told me it is wrong size when I asked him. He was so sure that it is 4" all around.....at least for C280.

Any body have any idea about the sound system?

Joe,

You are correct in ordering the 6.1/2" driver for the front door and the rear shelf. You should be able to fit 6.1/2" on both front door and rear shelf location however keep in mind that you will need an adapter to mount the 6.1/2" on the front door.

The local shop audio is partially correct about the speaker sizes on C36's.
The C36's has the Bose Audio system as one of the standard equipment.

So the rear shelf has (3) 6.1/2" driver (2 midrange, and 1 for bass unit), and 3.1/2" on the rear door. And 1" tweeter on the front and 4" midrange/midbass on the front door. That's right ! 4" driver on the front door which is installed onto a special-design Bose infamous tunnel system (it's a little one). That explain why the hole enough for accomodating 6.1/2" driver only housed 4" for C36.
