Buying new trunk springs, does it help?

When I pop my trunk lid, it opens less than an inch just barely above the top portion of the tail lights.
I can also hear some creaking sound everytime I open up the trunk.
Trunk springs do they sag?
Trunk lid used to open all the way up to rear window when my car was younger.
If I buy new trunk springs, would they fix the speed and tension when lid opens up like when the car was new?

On a side note.
Many years ago one of the brackets with pre-drilled holes snapped on one side inside the lining and the trunk spring fell off.
When I compare bracket-hinges design with an Audi from 1999 compared to w202, Audi had a much better design.
Now one of the springs is attached to one of the extra emergency (just in case bracket snaps) pre-drilled holes on bracket, my trunk looks a little misaligned.
All w202 owners will eventually suffer from this poor design when one or both brackets snaps!

Everytime you pop the trunk you put enormous tension and stress on brackets.

There's a MB kit for fixing the broken trunk spring tab. You can also just stretch the spring to attach further back. I haven't had to replace any springs.

That's what I had to do stretch and re-attach one of the springs.
This problem will happen to anyone owning a w202.

Theres a small s shaped hook that connects between the spring and the body.

I believe not having this effects the stiffness and behavior of the spring. I could be wrong

That tiny metal plate snapped on me falling down behind the protective liner, had to remove cd-changer to pick it up.
Opening and shutting trunk will put some strain on it.
MB must have known about this design flaw
