Question Bose front door speaker replacement options?

Okay, I searched the internet, and multiple forums, crutchfield and others. I can't get a straight answer.

I have the bose speakers in my car. The amp and headunit were removed by previous owner. I have a Becker headunit, and Alpine 4 channel amp, with stock bose speakers all around. The front bose speaker connectors were hacked off and replaced with regular push on connectors. The tweeters were left untouched.

I'd like to upgrade to new component speakers for the front doors, and replace the tweeters in the dash (because the tweeters aren't working, VERY little sound almost 0 is coming out of them).

Is there a definitive answer on what speaker size will fit the front doors? Is it recommended to ditch the bose cabinet?

I've read everything from. 6.5" to 5.25" to 3.5" to 4". Does anyone know what's the easiest? I'd like to do this myself. Shops are quoting install prices of about $1200+tax for their entry level setups installed. I can install, but I just don't know what will fit.

Please and many thanks in advance You guys are awesome!

You can remove the door speaker cover and measure the speaker. There's one screw at the bottom of the cover. Tweeters I can probably get you the two OEM. Email me if you're interested. speed43mods@gmail.com
