Current Values?

Hey all -

Wanted to get your thoughts on the value of a 98 c43 with 120k miles. What is a fair price to pay assuming the car is mechanically sound.

thanks for you advice!

I think the 1998 still had the 4 speed auto. Not as robust as the 5 speed. Value is all dependent on records and overall condition. $5000 to more than $20,000 for an exceptional car with low miles. 120k miles is about average.
comment: okay, all C43s have the 5 speed Automatic, ill stand by my price range, actually the lower half with 120k miles.

22 X3, 21 330e, 97 M3, 97 C36 (sold), but on the hunt for a clean, low-mile C43!

Without knowing maintenance history, kneejerk response would be about $7-8K as fair value for a 98 with those miles.

You're thinking of a 95-96 C36 that had a 4-speed auto. Everything thereafter was 5 speed.

@siideways is correct, '98 C43 has a 5-speed. But at 120k, assuming a normal color like black/silver/white, with ok maintenance history, no major mechanical or cosmetic flaws, then you should be able to get $8k no problem. If you're looking for more than that, then I would either hold on to it for a few more year (thinking these will somewhat follow the w210 E55 appreciation that's happened over the past couple years), or try to sell it on an auction site - people on BringATrailer love to overpay. I've never sold on CarsAndBids, but looks like some older MB's have brought good money on there so far. Even in those cases, you're probably looking at around $9-10k at the very most. GLWS tho!! @daniel3ooo
