Coolant issue on a C36 - Now won't start
I just bought a C36 from an owner who said the engine is blown but I have my doubts. Here's what happened:
He was driving on the highway, coolant light came on. Thought he could wait a few minutes until he was home to check it. A few minutes later white smoke started coming in the car and then a bit under the hood. He stopped the car on the side of the highway while the temperature was at about 60% on the gauge. Now the car won't start. You can tell from looking in the engine bay that coolant came out from the reservoir and the termostat housing, at the very least. What could be the cause? Head gasket was done about 7 years ago (40k km) but I know that the M104 have head gasket issues; could it be a major head gasket fail that cause that?
