1996 C36 telephone

I have a 1996 C36 with MB original Motorola telephone. My carrier (Verizon) tells me that the analog phones will in the future be obsolete. They tell me the new technology which will cost about $500 is available and will work with my car. What happens to the dash controller? I hope someone can clear this up for me as I do have a cellular phone but don't want to purchase equpment I don't need. Can MB help with this? Thanks to all for any assistance.

Analog is old technology....

What is the $500 for exactly?

You could probably just get a car-kit installed for the phone you currently have.. You already have an antenna, microphone.. just need to hook into those, the audio system's MUTE input...
