New purchase need some help
I just bought a 99 c43 in silver. Needs a lot of body work which is no problem. But I have this issue, both from seats will not go up and down including the head rest.
I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and connected it back. Went to try the seats and every worked great. Few minutes later they stopped working again.
I’m thinking if I do it again with the battery it will start working but than stop again.
any ideas what could be the problem? All the fuses are all fine.

I would check the relay which is in the trunk. I had a seat which would sometimes work, and other times didn't. I discovered a crack on the chip board. I applied a bit of heat with the solder gun and all went well after. Cheap repair.

Also those relays are like $9 now. They use the same one all over the car for various things. I ordered like 3 and stash them on a shelf. First thing I swap if a component ever misbehaves.

right now it has some rust on doors and fenders and other small places. I’m going to replace fenders cause they are pretty bad. Everything else I can take care of.
car is silver with two tone interior. Driver seat is not great and the other seats are like new. I will be spraying the whole car with brand new paint.
has 122k miles are drives fantastic. After all the work I don’t know if I’m keeping it or selling it. Suspension is stock and I may leave it like that because it rides so smooth. When we lower these cars they look nice but the ride just isnt as good as stock suspension. At least that’s how I see it and feel it as far as the ride quality.
I just finished restoring my white c43 and looks really nice. Had surface rust and the bottom underneath was rusted too but all surface. We sandblasted the whole underneath and came out nice. I may post pics before and after in another thread.
this silver one is going to look and ride like new. If I sell it I hope I can get 8-10K for it. Once the buyer sees and drives it he will love it.
