09 C63 esp / abs module

My 09 c63 with 100k on it recently began throwing a clump of codes while also shutting down the tpms, traction control, electric portion of power steering, speedometer, stability control etcetera. I had the car diagnosed at a local Mercedes repair facility with high reviews. They determined that the esp module was bad and they quoted about a grand to remove the module and have it rebuilt. I thanked them, paid for the diagnostic and took the car home where I removed the module and sent it to Module Master in Idaho. I received the rebuilt module back, installed it and had only one cel and it was the engine pic. I scanned and removed that code and drove the car. All was great until it wasn’t. After about 20 minutes of driving, the dash lit up again just like it has in the past. I called MM and spoke to them. They said that “on some of these Mercedes modules the problem is with a microchip and their usual solder repair will not remedy.” They refunded me the module repair charge and suggested i purchase a new module. Mercedes local quoted me $1800 for a new module which is two days out. Additionally they told me that the car will not operate with the new module until programmed which means I would need to pay them to install as well.

I emailed an associate who is in the auto wrecking industry and he said that according to Mercedes, only a 2009-2010 c63 esp module will work and he did not have one and none turned up on an lkq network search.

My battery is a two year old healthy agm.

Charging system putting out 13.2 -.6 at idle.

My question is this, is there a decent chance that an esp module from a non c63 c class of compatible year will work? The issue is only with the module not the pump. There are many modules available locally / pick and pull yards or I can buy a whole car at a tow auction for less than the rebuild of my existing esp module costs.

Is there another probable cause of the issue?

Thank you all,

Todd in Seattle
