1996 C36 Wiring Harness Fix
Hi all! This is my first post here, so apologies if I'm breaking any conventions or forgetting anything (please do let me know).
I have a 1996 C36 sitting at just under 130k miles, and my engine wiring harness has begun to degrade and cause issues (thus far only in one spot, but I imagine more is to come). I'm looking at trying to replace the harness, but availability seems very suspect. Does anyone have any information on where/how I could find a replacement? Alternatively, if anyone has a different suggestion for tackling the issue of a degrading wiring harness (a technically different harness that would still work, some sort repair method that won't empty my bank account), I'm all ears.

I think you are going to find that this model was produced for such a short time that this kind of part will be very hard to locate. Probably only in Germany as a guess. Try to find some spray or brush on plastic preservative the you can use in bad spots, and wrap repaired areas as a protective measure. keep the car as dry as possible, very care full with water and solvents areouns any wiring.
Make it last as long as you can. you might see if there was a part number change between 1996 and 1997 by chance.

There was a guy on here who made them or knew where to get one. Unfortunately I don't remember his handle name.
