Did I miss where the OP said that we are talking about a coupe?
I think one could assume so based on the initial reference to the M4 vice an M3 ...

An E43 Coupe could definitely interest me here in a few years.

^ I'm definitely interested in hearing your opinions on the C43 once you receive it. I think MB has achieved in their Coupe redesigns/updates what Audi could have only hoped for based on the abysmal unveiling of the A/S5 a few weeks ago ... and for the same reasons I chose my '13 S5 over either the (then current) C/E coupes, it looks like I'll be going MB for its replacement ... if they ever stop selling 'new' models with airbags which are known to be defective from the onset.

My reasoning when i actually was in the exact same situation was.

If i get the c43 it will take a little time and i will start wishing it was a c63s instead.
If i get a c63s i will never regret that i did not get the c43, why would i.

Service costs are basically the same for both cars so it does not really matter.

Honest opinion from someone who is busting their *** at work to afford a c63s. If you're a car person and appreciate performance in a comfortable DD go for the c63. If you're having that much trouble deciding between the two cars then go for the c43, especially if the c63 is just too much money. For me as a car person it was c63 or nothing. If there's not an understanding and appreciation of what the c63 is then don't buy one.

And as far as the bare bones thing, a c63s with 0 options is far better than most other cars you'll buy optioned out. It's never going to feel bare bones.

I didn't order mine with a ton of options because most of the options I don't want/need. bought the car to drive it not have it drive me.

Just my two cents on the c43/c63 debate. Nothing against c43 but if you're comparing the two it's either a price issue or you're not enough of a car person to understand why you should get the c63. If I just couldn't afford the c63 I'd be perfectly happy with a c43.

not necessarily true ... especially for those of us who live in an area where the requirement for any version of 4WD/AWD is a winter necessity. there is a difference between "dollars and cents" and "dollars and sense".

Ok and the fact of needing AWD in some areas. Not that I'd want to be driving anything over 10000$ around people in the snow. But I'll give you the AWD argument if you're somewhere that dumps snow.

And I believe the saying is two cents, not two sense. I'm well aware of how to spell.

The argument I'm putting out there is more for the people who say they don't understand the difference between the c43 and c63.

I read rumor that C43 will be one model year and then there will be C55 using the inline-6 and with over 400hp.

Agreed. I can easily afford a 63S its just never a true option for me bc I need AWD. Until that's an option it's C43 or an E Class for me.

I can swing $900 monthly , guess that's why I was looking at the C63.
again thanks for the reply.
Good luck leasing a bare boned C63 S Coupe for less than $1500 a month with zero down (Why Zero down? Cause no one with a right mind puts money down on a lease. Do max MSD instead.)

That sounds like a delicious rumor. A modern Mercedes inline-6 would be amazing.

Yeah, I would have purchased a C63S 4MATIC in a second and to be honest, I live in a snow belt area but that has nothing to do with my decision. After driving performance AWD vehicles, after years of performance RWD vehicles - I won't go back to RWD (except for maybe something on the lines of an AMG GT R). The ML replacement will most likely be a GLC63 4MATIC.
