Yea, it's not late December, I would consider it as a good news
It is pretty clear that this is speculation by the reps; if it is up to EPA who knows? If release were imminent, we would probably be getting less vague info. The same thing is happening with Range Rover for 2017 and the dealers are pissed because a huge portion are sold as tax deductions before the end of the year and their clients will likely go elsewhere if they can't deliver

I heard from my dealer again today and he said that it definitely won't be till January because there are to many left over c450 in the USA and Mercedes wants to release the coupes and sedans at the same time for marketing purposes. Wtf

Mate, no offense, but your dealer is either an idiot, or severely misinformed.

My dealer hasn't heard anything about a delay yet but they'll keep me posted, my build should be in production so I really hope the delay isn't long

Either the dealer, or the poster, or both.

Well my car just isn't here yet, it's been at the Baltimore port for a month already.. It was produced on time on August 8th.. Baltimore or about a 5 hour drive from here so I can't imagine it being in transport.. There is definitely something holding it up

My dealer informed me yesterday that my already-completed C43 is at the VPC with a late October delivery estimate.

Glad we are all getting our C43s about a week before the first big snow storm hits.

Absolute **** timing but I guess at least we will finally have our cars.

2014 E350... C43 soon
Per my dealer, as of Monday my coupe was done and waiting on a ship to come to US...

Not into delayed gratification, hoping not to have to wait too long once it's in country.

Will be interested in updates on this thread.

if you get your VIN number from your SA you can track the boat here

https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?fra...uickSearchPage

Just put the VIN number in the cargo ID box.

Then use :
http://www.marinetraffic.com

to track the boat based on the boat name given on the other site... Kind of round about, but it works.

He indicated that my car was built on August 18, shipped to the local VPC in Los Angeles, the huge old DC 10 building that MBZ bought, where it has sat for a few weeks pending Federal Certification. He indicated that the VW debacle from last year has changed the way that the Fed's look at cars for certification now. ANY changes to drivetrain (9 speed) require a new certification. In order to do this, a certain number of cars must be built and ready for them to pull a few from stock to check. They want hundreds, if not more, to be in stock before they choose a few to prevent cheating. This may be done in a week, a month, perhaps longer. No one knows. My wife's car is 30 miles away, and may as well be thousands. At least I am told that I can have the car a few days after the certification is complete. Anyways, that's what I was told. Who knows for sure...Hope this helps.
Update as of 09/16: Got an email from same contact as above confirming late October release as latest news to him.

Do you know if your car gets the acoustic glass? Mine did not and it's Aug 2nd build. Also, others reported it's standard but mostly are September build.

I'm sorry, but I don't have any info on Acoustic Glass. I'll be sure to ask next time I have conversation with the ordering specialist.

Just wondering if you've had any updates from your dealer? My C43 also reached the VPC (Baltimore in my case ) mid September - and here we are a month later - still with no car! A related thread already has at least one owner taking delivery over a week ago (unsure of his/her VPC). Any insight - as well. which VPC?
Thanks - and appreciate anyone else who can add to this

FWIW, my dealer emailed me about my Coupe being at the Baltimore VPC and his latest unofficial update from corporate is that they will be released on 10/15. Said he will follow up with me when he received official word.

Thank you - will look forward to any updates you get - I'll do the same - but don't seem to have that kind of dialogue with my dealer! I spoke to him this past Monday - and he said he has heard nothing.

"Late Dec" was what I initially heard from my dealer when the delay occurred. Since then, I have updated it to be Mid-Late October which is the same as what others heard.

I was told a few days ago that the car will launch sometime next week. Potentially Tuesday or Wednesday is what I was quoted

After this long wait of over a month (like others.......Does "launch' mean that it will be released from the VPC on its way to the dealership...or the dealer has it in his possession. Is this controlled by MB or is it in the hands of whoever grants its Federal Certification ("Customs" - according to my dealer) at the VPC - which I thought was the reason for the C43's being held up in the first place?

I would assume it can officially be released from the VPC to the dealers. Some may have it the next day depending on vicinity. Also cars are assigned a 'priority' level where sold cars should be shipped first.
