I don't really get the light up AC vents either. Too much in cockpit light for night driving. It would lessen your vision.
As for the puddle lights, that I do understand. When you get out of your car at night, having light on the ground to save you from stepping in something, or to help you see something that falls out of the car, that makes sense to me. Having a boring yellowish glow turned into a sharp, white light, that also has an AMG logo, that's just adding a cool factor to it, IMO.
