I am going to try this QD called Blackfire, I hear a lot of good reviews about it.

AMMO NYC on youtube and Adam's Polishes both have great video series on basics to pro-level detailing. I've exchanged emails with Larry at AMMO a few times over the years - he's a pretty humble, stand-up guy, seriously knows his stuff and has great videos. I don't use his stuff, but I've applied more from his videos to my regimen than anyone else's I've watched.

What leather cleaner and conditioner do you recommend?
I saw the Ammo videos, but other online reading suggest a APC and brush, then conditioner works just as well?

Totally depends on what I'm dealing with. I keep my stuff fairly pristine, so I only deep clean once a year, but when I do, I use this as a guide.

I've never had to use the DA machine brush option, but I love using the steamer with a microfiber trick...does wonders both cleaning and getting back to a supple touch before conditioning. When I detailed my fathers F350 King Ranch last year, I almost bought a brush pad for my DA polisher to try his "step 2" but the steamer/micro combo, followed up with APC and bristle brush did the trick. It has a saddle brown, almost nearing red territory leather and had some denim rub off that came up no problem with the steamer/micro combo.

I've used Meguiars, Chemical Guys, Adam's Polishes, Zaino, etc over the years and haven't been displeased with any of them. So long as you're not using ArmorAll or some random store brand, you'll be fine. Anymore, I end up going with what smells the best everything at Adam's smells great FWIW, but pay to play with their products.

Your car looks great!

How do you like it so far?

I skipped the "break-in period" on mine LOL... How's that part going for you?

No 'break-in' period for non-AMG motors.

They are pre run on an engine stand prior to installation

wait.. are you saying I don't have to baby it for 1500kms?! But why does it say it in the manual?

The more I think about this, the more I realize, why do I care its a lease! basically a glorified rental for 39 months! Time to drive it like a rental!!

Lads, it has been interesting. Stepping out of my C400 after nearly three years into generally the same car provided some initial impressions, such as :

1. The seats have a lot more side bolstering.

2. Love the steering wheel.

3. Burmester system sounds very different to mine. Not sure if that is just tired speakers to tight, new ones. A big difference is I am able to turn the bass up more than 3. Before it was almost sufficient at 0. So definitely some fine tuning has transpired over the years. Overall, I am able to turn it louder and it is cleaner.

4. Exhaust sounds really neat.

5. A lot of adjustments, I can go Manual whenever, exhaust whenever, whatever mode, which is nice. The car doesn't drop an inch or whatever like my C400 when you go from C to S or S+, which was always cool. Nice to see that Airmatic is more compliant amd you can still feel a difference between C and S+ as far as suspension stiffness.

6. Gliding? I see this little boat icon so I read up on that!

7. I like the AMG section with the g-meter and oil and tranny temp gauges.

Check your tire pressure. Triggerhappy, JimmyC43 ,no doubt they are rock hard like mine. So, driving around the first day , quite concerned at how harsh the car was. At first I thought it was just tuning, but I had my doubts. Sure enough, tires were all at 42psi. I adjusted them to the proper 36 front and 33 rear, and it has made a world of difference. Thank God.

It is different enough feeling as far as suspension, steering, brakes, etc...that it makes me feel like I am driving something other than a glorified C400. Happy about that, and looking forward to snapping its neck soon!

Jimmy, the Operator's Manual to be is my car Bible, I tend to follow them to ensure the car is broken in right. If you haven't , not the end of the world, just increases odds, how much is debatable, of things inconveniencing you later on.

Thanks, will check them tonight. Need to pick up a tire pressure gauge now! I had one but I think my wife lost it!

PS. so you brilliant blue beast on Limebank around 6 last night. I was turning on to Earl Armstrong coming from the west. Caught sight of the bright blue flash!

Car has individual tire pressure sensors. You can see them on your cluster. But having a tire pressure gauge never hurts.

Really? Surprised to hear that, thought it was just the system that alerts you when they are low. Will check that out.

Yup, of course following all recommended speed limits! I saw a nice Blue coupe this morning on River Rd., I think white and blue nail it, but I also saw a black one .

One thing that I notice, is they are distinguishable in their stance. You can tell it isn't a C300. That is one beef about the C63, is they are too understated in my opinion.

I still think I may invest in some spacers. 5 or 10mm

Yep. So if you are swapping out rims in the winter if you don't get TPMS sensors then your light will be on.

Same as my C400, but are you saying that it will tell me how much air is in each tire?

That is one sexy af car.

Question, is the coupé only aesthetically different than the sedan, or is the motor different too?

Checked out the tire pressure under service on the dashboard display.

My fronts were 42 and backs were 39! It was 3•c and raining outside! Lowered to 39 front 33 rear. As per recommended settings.

Thanks for the tip!
