Good Quality C43 Dash Cam

Would someone please recommend one for this car?

I have never owned one for any vehicle but I know they come with different capabilities, resolution, placement options, wireless, etc. Small size would be
good.

Thank you.

Hey,

I'm using the blackvue 650s 2Ch front and back hard wired. Parking motion detection as well. The only issue is how difficult it is to extract footage. The wifi connection sucks.

I am also using the Blackvue DR650s 2ch along with Cellink B + extended battery pack. Great camera, lots of settings you can adjust. Video quality is 8/10.

So this particular solution is 2 separate cameras?

Yes, 2 separates cameras. One for the front and one for the back. Both cameras are linked together with a wire that I had concealed at a stereo shop.

Do you mind getting a photo of the install please?

I keep thinking I should get one after watching a few youtube videos, but want to ensure it's good quality video (be able to read number plates in the dark) but unobtrusive - don't want wires running everywhere!

Yes sir. I'm currently out all day but I'll make sure to take pictures for you when I get home. There's no wires anywhere to be seen in my car.

Blackvue DR650s 2ch is the best low profile dashcam on the market currently. And it's previous versions (DR650) was the best dashcam for a while as well.

Even cooler is, you can run multiple dash cam setups. Eg, you can use a front viewing dash cam, rearview/backup camera, interior camera, and front lip/parking camera, and have them all linked/work together. And no, they don't have to be the same expensive dash cam. Eg, you can get a lower quality/resolution Blackview as your front lip/parking camera, since it's for vision, not for video quality/playback. Google and you'll see some nifty setups out there...

So if you're using it for vision (lower lip for example), how can one quickly use it to see if I'm about to hit a curb? If it's with the phone app, it's going to be pretty annoying.

Also, I just found this cam: https://www.carcamcentral.com/guide/...s-of-2016#F770

It seems to be better than the blackvue 650s now

Check this out: https://www.blackboxmycar.com/pages/...-channel-setup

They used to have a writeup and more info on the 3-channel setup, but I can't find it right now. But Blackboxmycar is an excellent resource to ask about how to trigger the camera. I'm pretty sure you can link it up to a button in the car.

I plan on doing this, but haven't done it yet. I was gonna use one of the empty switch spots in the car and use it to engage the camera on-demand.

Also, I just found this cam: https://www.carcamcentral.com/guide/...s-of-2016#F770

Don't know enough about it to know if it's better or not, and if so, how so. But here's a good place to start... (don't have the time to check it out now): https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...lackvue+dr650s Also, again, Blackboxmycar sells both, so it would be a good idea to get their $0.02 on it (I have NO affiliation with them, but I think they're often viewed as the #1 dashcam store).

Yup, that's a sweet setup! I have been between the Thinkware F770-2CH or the BlackSys CH-100B. The F770 has great video quality during day time and night time recording, and it's one of the few rear cameras with 1080p full HD resolution. But the camera setup along with the optional battery pack (which I would get to avoid wearing down the car's battery) costs almost a grand...

Guilty, have you found it useful so far?

Dont want to hijack this thread, but I happen to have a brand new Blackview 2 channel (front/rear) 650 that I was going to put on ebay. Hard wire kit, power magic pro, 128gb card. I bought it from blackboxmycar for nearly double what I am asking. Both cameras are unused.. PM me if interested.

$295 shipped.

I'm very paranoid since my douche bag parking spot neighbor stole the electric for my electric car. So yeah.. motion detect helps me sleep at night although I never check the footage since viewing it is such a pain. That's the main reason why I don't love this dash-cam. The app is good, you can view videos directly on your phone but 2 big problems:

- Each time you connect to the Blackvue Wifi, it makes you lose your internet connection.
- It's painfully slow and frustrating.

You can also view the footage by extracting the SD card and inserting it to your laptop but that's even more work.

This is an excellent deal. Someone should jump on it. For reference, I paid $350 for mine (64Gb sd card) + $55 for the powerpack.

I have the same 650S setup. Pretty happy with it. I do agree that the wifi is painfully slow. Almost wonder if having it connected to a hotspot in the car would be better at times. I don't know about Guilty but I had to mess with the sensitivity settings quite a bit because a lot of my videos were being tagged as an impact event. Mainly from opening and closing the doors while it was in parking mode. Also driving over rougher roads would do it. Overall a good choice.
