Golan Got back to me, he's on it

I think mine had a a manufacturing defect. The wiring harness has a clip that looks like it is supposed to snap into the body of the tuner. My harness has a metal band that rides too close to the teeth of the clip and prevents them from engaging. I believe the only thing that was holding it in place was the adhesive and pressure from the rubber boot on the harness.

Pics forthcoming...

I think this is just an early production QC miss. These happen. The real test will be in how well Dinan responds. I'm not worried about Golan and Autotalent, he's been solid from the get go. I expect Dinan will be too.

Zipped to the left air intake pipe. I don't think the mount location had anything to do with the failure though. It looks like a manufacturing defect to me.

The AMR tune isn't a piggyback, therefore it cannot "fall apart" lmao the dinan unit is a piggyback device that plugs in. Clearly it is low quality if it is falling apart lol. This is why the piggyback route is a waste of money in my opinion.

I'm no materials engineer, but mine appears to be of industry standard or higher quality.

I asked the location suspecting heat separation of the adhesive.

I have to agree, it looks like the casing/wrap/adhesive melted for some odd reason which probably allowed for the clip separation.

I will take a look at mine this evening to inspect for any abnormal wear. If Dinan provides a new unit at no costs, that would be super awesome. I like my unit, and I am just waiting for a little more miles before I go full ECU tune and down-pipes. As of right now the bang for buck on this Dinan unit is good.

Dinan is still on the hunt for a car to do an "elite" version for this platform. Anyone in the bay area with a car should take them up on the offer

It may not be clear from the pic.

The black material around the terminus of the white clip is metal. The edge of the metal is irregular and is causing interference with the clip and the body of the tuner box.

There is no evidence of heat damage of any sort. This appears to be a fitment issue with the metal shroud. I'm assuming the metal shroud is there to protect the wiring harness from being kinked.

Agreed. Kinda sleazy.

Class is up a little more OE Tuning. You already have a good product that stands on it's own merit.

I am still waiting for the Elite/Performance tune from them. Somebody has got to be able to send them a c450/c43/GLC43 sheesh.

I wish there were more tuners like Burger MotorSports on the BMW side. They would actually buy/lease a stripper car and tune it. Then re-sell or keep it depending on if the platform is useful or not.

What kind of crack is that, doc?

I have the Sport so I believe the Elite will be worth the wait.

Uh, don't you have a sense of humor?

If I weren't so scared of LA I'd drop mine off and go to Napa.

Chill out, Lionel.

Not sure the point of your post. I also have the sport tune on my GLC43. I was just hoping they would have a car by now to work on the elite/performance piggyback like what they have for BMW.

So far I haven't seen anything worth-while from the other piggybacks on the market. I like Dinan so I am hoping they come out with a good plug-and-play product so I would not have to go with another tuner having to ship off my ecu. I like being able to connect and disconnect my current sportronic device 😎

We do, you're just not funny.

Why are you in this C43/C450 section again? Are the polar bear jokes getting old in the W205 or CLS sections?

Ha, ha!

Thank you for your several kindnesses.

So, a snotty little foot tall guy with a scroll under his left arm walks into a gay polar bear bar....

i just received and installed mine today. Am I right in saying that there shouldn't be any "learning" process for this piggyback tune as it is simply tricking the car into thinking it needs more boost?

The reason I ask is because I haven't driven too much at all since installing it, but I don't feel like I'm noticing much difference.

Also, should the boost meter in the AMG screen be acting differently at all as a result of installing the tune?
