Need help -- lowering c43

I dropped my car off today to get my H&R springs installed but they called me saying that they need to program my car or use some sort of scanner? Has anyone heard anything about this?

nope, 'never heard of it... when i had mine dropped all they needed were a few wrenches, sockets and a pneumatic gun... and of course a lift.

They said they need something called a STAR scanner. They referred me to another shop that has one supposedly.

That's not true. People have DIY'D the springs and my mechanic had no need of the STAR scanner. If he is telling you all of this maybe its because he is not comfortable working on this vehicle.
