still completely annoying that AMG drivers package requires premium package which is not worth $5K in my opinion.
Wait for the next Genesis Coupe or G70…

Here's my performance exhaust on cold start at the dealership when I collected it.

I like the look of the Armytrix setup!

Hey NYCSoiL i just noticed you not only owned a 2014 Gen Coupe 3.8 but you're also driving the V8 sedan. i'm going to share my first impressions below and i am *very* interested in your take given that you've owned the same model i am driving now (my Gen is 1 '13 3.8GT parabolica blue with baseball glove leather interior).

i was completely unimpressed with the C43. i found the steering to be quite numb--conveying less feeling than my gen, the turn in was less sharp. throttle response was very good to excellent--the gen is pretty weak here with lousy throttle response and some drivetrain slack (i have a manual). i found the comfort of the seat to be comparable... yes the C43 is massively more adjustable but support and bolstering was comparable. interior fit and finish is of a higher quality than the genesis but i wasn't blown away... this is a $60K car in canada, after all. lastly, i was actually embarrassed at the poor quality of the
"dinamica" stock seats, the stock stereo system, and the stock steering wheel compared to my gen. i couldn't believe how much better the infinity system in the gen is compared to the stock system in the C43. the Burmester system is definitely very good, probably better than the gen system but it's only part of a $5K package that i don't want.

which brings me to my final point... this is not a 60K car, it's a 70K car. i can't see anyone buying it with the standard seats, tires, stereo, and exhaust--there's just no point, and i certainly wouldn't entertain the car without these features either. so that means i'm looking at getting into a car that's nearly DOUBLE the cost of my current ride ($37K list and i paid $31K with 10K KMs on it). i'm just not sold that this car is worth $70K+ and probably not worth $60K+ either imo. i just do not get any sense of premium quality, features, or performance that can quite get me anywhere near $70K. is it just diminishing returns as you get up into this category? i'm willing to spend the money, i just don't feel at all that i am getting a much better car.

my next car needs to be a 4 door so the G70 is probably out... looked at the G80 sport and it's somewhat a better value but also a *monster* at like 4500lbs. and the interior is meh.

anyway, rant over. i apologize for dumping on the C43. I acknowledge that the dealer didn't let me rip on it so maybe i didn't quite get the best impression of it on a 10-15 min test drive but very interested in your comparison to your 2014 gen coupe!

I feel you lol...
Infinity (JBL) is way better than Mercedes Burmester, their design "subwoofer in front" is a complete garbo, sounds like a base Accent.
My coupe is fully loaded except for AMG seats and HUD. I did not go with leather seats because i wasn't impressed with them in my old C450 and didn't want to pay more for something I didn't like.
AMG steering wheel is better than stock.
Command system is junk

What I like about Mercedes over the GenCoupe is 360 Camera, smart cruise control, adjustable suspension, better interior materials. But again, C205 platform is brand new while GenCoupe was out since 2008...

I traded in my GenCoupe exactly a year ago for a C450 AMG which i got rid of within 6 month. Just did not feel it after the GenCoupe did not have any bells and whistles like the benz did. My GenCoupe was tuned by SFR since day one and throttle response was amazing - rarely switched to the S mode. I regret selling it, really. Anyway I gave Mercedes another try with the C43 Coupe and the coupe is much better build quality than the sedan. 9G tranny is slightly better than the 7G (was a complete crap). Less rattles and electrical issues.
With all this said, I still can't wait for the new Genesis Coupe to go back. Btw, the G70 is going to be a 4 door sport sedan. Basically look at the Stinger with 3.3TT, launch control and other things.. IMHO, don't get on the Benz. And yeah, the G80 is very huge lol, but i still love how it drives and V8… oh man

Haha OK now, that's a bit dramatic wouldn't you say?

I don't have the illustrious and end all-be all PE on my 450 but it's still a fantastic car and a joy to drive everyday.

The few times I've driven a c300 loaner, it made me love my 450 soooooo much more. People want to say that it's "just" a 300 with a bigger engine and better suspension. LOL, uhhhh, those 2 details are the most important to which will make or break an automobile.

thanks so much for taking the time to respond. this was extremely helpful. so you recommend the SFR tune, eh? maybe i'll just put some new summer rubbers on my gen, get the tune and pretend i'm driving a new car?

Is there any chance of you guys with a performance exhaust taking a pic of your pipes? I'm curious to know if it is a true dual exhaust (like the AWE and C63) or the same 2-1-2 the C450 has with valves mufflers.

Okay, okay, this is a GT-R not a Mercedes, but this backfire is hysterical. I am genuinely sitting down with the giggles watching his video.
