2017 C43 Coupe or 2018?
Hi guys/gals,
Since we are heading into the Fall of 2017, Mercedes is likely to roll out their 2018 models soon. In fact, I have already seen quite a few 2018 models on lots. And, of course new orders being taken on 2018s.
At any rate, that being this case, I need some opinions.
Should I wait and get a 2018 c43 coupe fresh and new? Or grab one of the 2017's still sitting on the lot (I'm assuming the price will be going down, but not sure how much, 8-10k maybe?)
Please let me know what you guys think.
Thanks!

I haven't seen too many C43Cs sitting on lots. If you can find a 2017 that meets your criteria - snag it! You'll end up getting a better interest rate (If you're leasing or financing) and discount as well. As for 8k+ off...good luck. There are still at least 3 solid months before the 2018s start arriving in droves. You won't have too much negotiating power on a 2017 in July in my experience. Also, unless they are changing something major about the car between model years, get the outgoing model year because you will get the same value for less money. Unless of course you are buying the car outright and want slightly better resale value a few years down the road...

Thanks for your comments silver surfer, much appreciated. I don't know how attentive others are when looking for cars when they get interested, but I have been looking about twice a day for ~2 month and haven't noticed much movement in C43 coupe stock. In some cases, I have seen them sitting for over 6 months.
I agree it will take around until October/November timeframe before 2018's take over the lots. At the same time, I just read two posts on here about c43 coupe's new at 60 MSRP down to 52.4 and 53. That and my approximation of devaluation and dealer interest to get them off the lots, lead me to the 8k to 10k figure. But its good to hear more seasoned responses.

Not a problem! I hope you find a good deal. I'm in the great white North and our dealers have an 8% markup on these cars - between MSRP and 'wholesale'. We basically look at everything from a markup % standpoint when calculating discount. Seeing a dealer sell at a loss or even at the break even point is virtually unheard of with these cars in the Greater Toronto Area.

Ah, I see, yeah that's exactly what I heard about Canada; discounts are few and far between. I think its much more common to come in slightly above invoice in the USA (5-6%off). Even on sites like truecar / edmunds, the "market value" in US is decently below MSRP. Tough luck indeed in Canada.
I would like to think I will come much more armed with info to get a better deal then the average car buyer. But, that's what I'm here for after all.
