H & R Sport springs review after 1 year
Just thought I would give a review of the H & R sport springs after 1 year of having them on my car.
So a few months after taking deliver of my fully loaded ($73k) C450 I got the tuning bug and decided to have the H & R sport springs installed on the car after having the Michelin PSS put on the 19" stock wheels.
Now a lot of people warned me that the springs would be too bouncy for a daily driver but I think that coming from a Porsche and having a F80 M3 as well to me the car felt a lot better with the springs on with the MPSS. I also drive in sport + 75% of the time.
The car was no longer soft and had a quicker turn in on corners than with the stock springs. It might be too stiff and bouncy for some people but for me it was just right.
I tracked the C450 and the stiffer springs and lower CG made the car roll less in corners and just bite in on turn in with minor understeer and even some oversteer on demand. Very neutral.
As far is the look I have attached a few pictures and the car looks amazing. It's more aggressive to me and the gap in the wheel wells is gone.
NOW for the only negative and why I am switching back to stock springs. It made the car way TOO low! I mean it was rubbing the undercarriage on everything. I live in Los Angeles and bump in concrete would just scratch not to mention it would rub at every driveway entrance.
As said this is my daily driver and I drive about 40 miles a day and couldn't keep damaging the bottom on the car without risking major damage one day.
If the springs made the car maybe 0.25" taller I would have no issues with it at all and would highly recommend them to c450 or c43 owners who want a sportier feeling to their car.
Well this is my review on the springs and hope this helps anyone thinking about installing them!

Good review about the springs though, I do not have a c450/c43. But I can tell you, that drop of yours with the H&R Sport springs looks really good. The roads must be pretty bad in CA for you to want to change them out. DC has crappy roads and I had no issues with H&R Sports on my previous car which was a c350. The c450/c43 H&R spring rate must be a lot lower on this application. Do they make Super Sports for the c450/c43? The settings on those must be super low.
