Finally got a dragy so have been doing some street pulls. Currently just a stage 1 tune from Labworx on the car but should be getting downpipes installed and retuned later this week. I’m on the stock 19 inch wheels with continental DWSs.

Just got a draggy and starting to learn to launch the car. Seems the best result I got was brake boosting to around 1500rpm and releasing brake immediately as it gets there. After you try it a few times car starts to slow down, most likely due to heat soak.

Roads around suburbia Pittsburgh are not optimal, specially this time of the year with so much salt. Don't have as many opportunities to keep improving the 1/4 mile as the places suitable for this would most likely get me arrested, but of course we keep trying.
Mods: MST V2 - Eurocharged Stage 1 - Muffler Delete
Bought the car used and it came with bridgestone potenza re980as - does the job on the snow in Pittsburgh but I can feel it slipping. Will be throwing PS4S for the summer and just using this tire for the winter.

Downpipes, intercooler and springs have been ordered and will probably be installed within the month or so.

Thanks to all who contribute, have learned a ton on this forum.

C400 - BMS map 6, BMS intake and Ultimatepd downpipes. Anyone have a faster C400 piggyback time? Still not convinced a full tune is worth the extra cost unless you are going to do more mod.

Nice Times! Is this Labworx in Cherry hill, NJ? How much was the tune? Did you do a dyno pull before and after? What were the numbers?

Yup, Labworx in Cherry Hill. The car made 389whp and 375wtq, stock was around ~305-310whp. I believe the price was $1,600 for the tune.

I know I've said I'd do more times soon to try out the WMI and TCU but it's too cold to get any good traction with the tires have on, so Im waiting till my local strip opens up to do some runs there come Spring.

Thank you, any idea what you expect to make with the downpipes added to the set up?

Have been working on a custom tune so not sure how much power the downpipe added. Last time we dyno'd it was around 430whp and 480wtq on 93. Right now I'm just focused on if we can push the car into the 10s for the 1/4 on stock turbos (current best is 11.51 on 93). Right now two biggest issues to address seem to be airflow and I was just reading on another thread that others trying to run E or race fuel had fueling issues (as expected) so will have to figure that out.

wow so keeping things the same, fuel etc, and reflashing with the down pipes gave you 40 whp and 100 wtq? Roughly speaking, any idea what trap speed went to? You were 117 on the stage one, I’m expecting you to say 120ish post downpipes?

I trap around 119 consistently. Have just been focusing on the first half of the track for now and dialing in the launch (was able to get a 1.76 60' when before I was sitting around 1.88-1.92). Will work on the top end once we figure out fueling issues, don't want to add any timing or anything running 93.

1st attempt after new mods

Wagner intercooler, Downpipes, Eurocharged USA Stage 2 tune installed on Friday the 29th of January at Eurocharged in Buffalo, NY.

No dyno testing or fine tuning yet. Car spins like crazy off the line now, especially in horrible winter conditions in Pittsburgh, PA.

Will post new times when conditions are better, couldn't wait any longer lol

You got new mods, didn't get the car tuned, and then logged times?

Not quite how you describe, the ECU was flashed with Eurocharged's USA Stage 2 file during the install of the intercooler and downpipes.

I meant I couldn't wait for dry conditions, no salt or snow on the road, so I know it will be faster than what it is right now. My times were logged this weekend in Pittsburgh, PA, and the weather has been horrible, which left me impressed with the results so far. Not to mention an awesome snow drifting machine.

What I meant is no dyno or fine/custom tuning yet, I know from this thread alone there is still some power on the table to be had.

Yes definitely some power on the table, the gentleman above is trapping 117 on 93 pump alone in his C450 custom Stage 1 tune from LabWorx. With your supporting mods I would expect at least 120 mph on 93 pump or damn near close. I would really work with a tuner to dial in the tune. The tune is key to any car. But you know all this already, so goodluck!

Thank you! I've had the car since July last year and still studying this MBWorld forum and learning a lot. I am coming from manual naturally aspirated cars (13' 370Z then 17' Camaro 2SS) with no tuning or mods. This automatic TT3.0L V6 platform is a complete new world for me and I am really enjoying it. Also have a lot more time on my hands now since I'm not traveling for work... Gotta take the good with the bad.

Yes @AMGjimbo609 's C450 is cruising no doubt about that on just downpipes and Stage 2!! Definitely giving me confidence in continuing to push for more power. Due to my lack of expertise in tuning overall and the fact I have no support system here in Pittsburgh, PA, for tuning, so any codes or whatever I run into, I would be on my own trying to work through it, I am still hesitant to tune the car too close to the limit as. (If anybody knows of trust worthy shops/tuner for Mercedes around Pittsburgh area I would very much appreciate information! Called and tried all the shops I could find and no luck...)

I think the next step I keep leaning towards due to my geographic location is JB4 to push a little more boost and run a little E85 on a custom map. I think JB4 will also help me in learning more about tuning by being able to log, see and understand what's happening, etc.

I see you also drive a C450, do you have any mods to yours?! What kind of times are you running?

Bone stock, and for good reason. There was so much bickering between AMS, EC, etc I just didn't know who to go with. So I quietly wait....see who emerges.... It looks like Labworx for 1600 dollars gets you a custom 93 octane tune that traps 117. That's good value to me. I have been on the sidelines as my car is purchased and I plan on keeping it for another four or five years, so I'm in no rush to mod. I want to see what kind of tunes put out what. I'm very curious what the DP, stage 2 Labworx guy runs on 93 octane because personally, the furthest I'd go in the modification stage is downpipes + custom tune. I know the gentleman I speak of also has an intercooler on his car and they are working to dial in the tune so I'd expect around 121 mph trap speeds with his car when it's all said and done. With mine, if I can kiss 119-120 on 93 octane all day long that's good enough.

I am not new to modifying cars though, I had a 400 whp stock turbo'd Lancer Evolution 9 back in the day and that thing was stupid fun. It would run mid 11's around 117-118 so it wasn't the fastest but it felt like a go kart around corners.

I see I see, you just have a lot of opinions and questions on others' set ups so I was curious as to what you were actually doing. I personally wouldn't quote those $$ numbers as he has been working on a custom tune, but if that is the case, he killed it.

Yes, I got a glimpse of the arguments and certainly don't want to start any of that here. This is a fun car regardless of what you do to it, best of luck on your hunt.

Hopefully more dragys this weekend if the weather holds out Saturday.

Haha I do have a lot of opinions, but have never meant to call people out. Just curious who runs what and how it runs.

With regards to quoting the price, well it’s what I was told. I’m not going to call LabWorx and demand a price, but price to power gained is a factor that I consider when modding.

cheers
