Way to mount front license plate

Does anyone have a low cost option without drilling any holes to mount the front license plate? *** of a cop gave me a fix it ticket for just that... ridiculous.

any pics or links to easy mounts would be awesome

Check out Craigs Mustang Brackets. I use them for my Shelby and C43. It allows you to remove it if you want and re-attach. Ive been using for 6 months with no issues at all.

After taking it off and putting it back on a few times, the tape gets dirty and will no longer stick. Maybe velcro will be better...?

I have a 2014 C300 and like you I didn't want to drill holes in the bumper. I got a couple of drywall toggle screws and used the lower grill area. You take the mounting plate and attach the toggle bolts to it. Once you slide the toggle bolt through the grill it opens up and then you tighten it down and then add your plate. I like the look of it sitting lower since it doesn't cover part of the bumper.

Thanks. I bought this one to replace my previous 2007 C230 Sport, which was . . . . of course Mars Red with black interior. Other than having the windows tinted the only other change is getting rid of those ugly orange cornering lights. I ordered a set of clear ones off ebay and switched them.

The red and black really works for me since I'm a Louisville Cardinals fan.

I suggest possibly look into a tow bracket license plate holder? Not sure what model you have?

Check Cravenspeed.com That was the only place I found that offered a tow hook plate holder for the 2015 and newer C class cars. I got one for our 2017 C43 sedan and I'm very happy with it. Cheers!

A few quick photos of our C43. Sorry, they weren't taken specifically to show the plate holder which uses the tow hook opening, but I can take more photos that are close up this weekend. Cheers!

I would use 3M double sided tape, or mount it through the ABS plastic bezels using nuts bolts washers.

A few more photos of my tow hook plate holder from Cravenspeed. It does not interfere at all with parking sensors, it's close to the bumper but doesn't touch it. Cheers!

C43 AMG 4Matic Coupe
Came with plate holder (2017 model picked up last week)

Mine (which I picked up on Thursday) came with this ... it attached through the diamond shaped sections of the lower "grill" with pressure fit clips. It was under the trunk floor cover ... even the sales guy said I'd have to drill in to the bumper so looks like this may be something recent they started supplying or they just didn't tell the sales staff.

This is how it attaches ... just at the top. The bottom doesn't attach (unless went to the extent of getting some wire and hooking it to the grill, but I don't think it's going anywhere).

How it looks without the number plate ... 'cos it didn't come with any screws, so off I pop to find some screws the correct size ;-)

I'd suggest showing this photo to your local MB dealer and see if they can order you one ... it came with my car from new but as I said even the sales guy thought I was going to have to drill the bumper. If all else fails perhaps the parts department of a BC dealer could ship you one.
These screws work perfectly for mounting the license plate to the holder shown. Number 10 x 1/2".

FWIW, the front plate mounts that put the plate directly over the lower grill section may be having a non-trivial impact on your engine power.

APR tested that style of front plate mount on the GTI (which has a similar intercooler location) and found that it was causing losses of 16hp and 22 ft/lbs on their test car because it blocked clean air from reaching the intercooler.

It's the normal mount that screws in... you just installed it upside down and with no screws, the clips in one side won't hold it in.. bye bye front plate on the highway..it also will put nice scratches on your lower spoiler from sitting on it like that

Also, to the person who said hood pins don't look cool because "Mercedes." I think it looks pretty bad *** when put on a car worth the time.

MB can't find this part without an official parts # and the vehicle make/model/year to search it. Can you please provide if it is not too much trouble?
