Tire replacement

I just heard an explosion in the garage. I walk out and find my tire exploded. I call up Mercedes and the parts department said that I would not need to replace all 4 tires. I'm little hesitant because I have 15000 miles on the car. My first thought is at all 4 need replaced but he was convinced that only the one needs replaced. Anyone have thoughts on the matter?

I'm sorry I don't have any advice.

I just wanted to say WOW! I know these tires aren't that good but that is ridiculous.

why not measure tread depth to make an educated decision?

I've measured all the tires 6-7/32 however until I see the new tire I wont know the difference. But the question will be the same regardless of the new tires tread depth. Are these AWD systems able to handle distinct differences between tire tread. My Mercedes dealer says yes.

Are you trolling? You can look up the tread depth online. New Contisport Contact 5 is 8-9/32, assuming that is the tire you currently have.

look up your tire. If you're looking for an excuse to swap them out, then if you're on a lease I'd get a lightly used tire to match and shelf them for turn in. If you own the car ditch them for a better tire.

The new one was 10/32. Throttle back there turbo. Thanks for your help though. I mean it did nothing to answer my question but you sure became a big part of this post.

Wow, that's really scary, wonder how that happened. I guess I would personally replace all four tires if the tread depth would be significantly uneven.

Also does anybody know if the C43 Coupe front and rear tire config is staggered? I opted for the AMG Performance Studio package which comes with 19" wheels. I remember reading something about the rear tires being wider.

I am not completely comfortable with a 3-4/32 difference either but every single person I spoke to at the dealer was convinced it was not an issue. I planned to sell the vehicle in another month or so anyway but I hate to pay it forward like that. In the end I'm trusting their experience. It cost me $290 vs the $1200 I was expecting. I mean, the dealer had a great opportunity to attempt to take advantage of me and they decided not to.

My C450 was staggered. Fronts are 225 rears are 245. I presume C43 are the same.
