Tuned by AMR!! 12.2 @ 116mph,, can I claim fastest 450AMG? lol
Hello Folks,,
Was recently surfing internet and youtube and couldn't really find much about tuned C450/C43 1/4 mile times.
I live in West Virginia but Yesterday decided to take the drive to the nearest Drag strip, which is an hour and half away lol.
Anyways made it there. Vehicle was tuned by AMR with catless downpipes. This vehicle has a lot of potential if it would launch right. I tried multiple ways to launch but no luck. My friend in his 5.0 Mustang ran a 12.3@ 112 which tells me if I could launch this thing hard enough I can break into 11s,,,
Settings of vehicle before the drag trial,
Full weight car : Don't know how much it ways
Driver only in vehicle : I weigh about 220 pounds ( I know I need to lose some
Full tank of 93 pump gas
Weather was lower 60s F

For me it wasn't hard at all. I drove all the way up to Danbury, CT. 7 hrs drive from WV just to put it on AMR's dyno. The guys at AMR did all the work. I personally rather have dyno tunes than mailed tunes or any other forms of tune. Other's would rather just send their ECUs
Taking the ECU off a C450/C43 should be no longer than a 5 minutes job as demonstrated by Rob@AMR. You can mail it to AMR and they should mail it back to you within a day or two max.

Would it be possible for AMR/OE/Eurocharged to program in some sort of launch control with their tunes? Seems like it would be a big step towards hitting 11s with just stage 1/2.

Great time. This backs up AMR hp gains, since we can safely assume these cars trap around 108 stock. ~100whp gains should be backed up by 8-10 mph trap speeds...Perhaps a lower 60ft and we could see 117 118 out of the tune in similar weather conditions.
That is fast, many many cars would be in for a surprise including the big brother, c63, from a stop!

This is something to be asked to Tuners. I really hope that they can. Although I believe this is limited to TCU and torque converter. It really was more of the TCU or ECU limiting the car from brake boosting, hopefully there is a solution to this. BMW 340is and 440is (Basically the B48 3.0 Turbo motor) is making less power even with their JB4s but still getting equivalent numbers to us in terms of Time and speed. All because they tuned their ZF 8speed to have launch control when in S+.

Not to mention, AWD so traction in most conditions. Sub 4s to 60 in all weather conditions is stupid fast. I would know I came from a bolt on + cam'd Evo IX that did 117 on pump gas in the 1/4 mile. (0-60 was 3.84 with old all season Pirelli P6s on it). It was dumb how fast my car would move in the middle of winter.
It'd be incredible if a tuner could program the ECU to build boost off a rev limiter from a stop but I doubt it.

In my opinion, Mercedes purposely left launch control off the C43 as the numbers would get too close to the C63. A tuned C43 with launch control would be mid 3's to 60...how would the guys who spent 80k on a v8 and RWD feel if the lower tier car out runs their cars to 60...

I will check with tuners to see if someone could do something about this as it would help improve the 0-60 mile times and 1/4 miles

12.27 on a stage 2 tune............? And these stage 1 AMR guys are bragging about how this is the best tune ever? Your car is also the leanest a C43 could be - sedan on 18" wheels.
On that note, you got a pretty fast car. I think AMR has a great tune but I don't think its any better than the rest still.

I'm going to the track Friday night so I should have slips. I'm a bunch slower in my Cabriolet but we've had some fun in Mexico, and I put a couple cars on a C43 Sedan with Dinan Sport up to 175km/h.
Launching the car is really hard.. Still struggling with that myself.

I really don't know who the best is. I think they're all pretty close that it boils down to car, weather, climate, fuel, etc. I would purchase an AMR tune if it was local, or an OE if it was local, and just as happy with a Eurocharged tune.

Get a time slip, post it, and let's see what Eurocharged traps.
The 116 11.8 stage 1 Youtube Video of the c450 I believe is the Eurocharged car which was running a cold air intake, downpipes, and 50 shot of nitrous.
That leads me to believe AMR/OE are the two best tunes out there since both have produced 116-117 time slips without Nitrous or Air intake.

It's simple. we can take into consideration the weather conditions, just post a time slip. You have continuously harassed AMR tuned vehicles, but have yet to run your tune at the track.

please do (from 2011 lol) Then you will see how he handled it as he posted on forums we couldn't reply on and the other forum we actually could. You will also notice how we are one of the only vendors that offers a motor protection warranty!!

I don't think I'd be laughing out loud. 2011 isn't remote. I couldn't find the outcome, but regardless, rather than laughing out loud don't you find the undenied facts DISTURBING on any level?
I think your "lol" is exactly why I'd NEVER deal with you guys: it is not about arguing with a former customer on forums but earning good will.
Do you 'lol" if someone has a motor warranty claim?

I also LOL because we were only allowed to post our part of the story on one site (BB) and most of his accusations were met with evidence and counterpoint. UNDENIED is a lol When his car is damaged and we pay for claims that the tow company did, come on man. The facts are indeed out there and we still stand behind what we did. As a vendor when someone posts a smear campaign its not like we can reply on forums we don't sponsor.
We also stand behind the fact that we are probably one of the biggest mb tuners out there presently, with locations around the globe. We wouldn't be enjoying that type of success without a firm client relationship for years.

Look, you know there are others but I won't bother. No one is trying to dig up anything, you dug it for yourselves.
I'll ask again: doesn't the undenied fact that this even happened bother you rather than trying to blow it off?
Thank you for reinforcing my belief about you and your company.
I'd never deal with you or your company, ever.
You are smug, arrogant and perhaps disengenuous. (Your "tow company" contention is not even worthy of belief, but begs the question.")

When you have tuned over 20,000 cars things are bound to happen. We see all faces of cars from well maintained to cars that haven't even had basic oil changes on many many miles, to other cars that the original owners pull mods off and resell with the same tune on it. We have stepped up to the plate and offered a warranty program that no one else does. We have been going way out of our way to help out when needed as well on issues that are not even tuning based.
