Loud Brake Noises?
Hi again all,
I went for a test drive in a c43 coupe that I am anticipating purchasing if everything checks out today.
One thing that I noticed though when driving was the brakes. When I lifted off the brakes slowly at a light, they consistently made a loud groaning sound as the car rolled forward.
I am new to performance/sport type cars, is this normal? Thanks guys!
extra info: I live in a very dry climate and car has 6000 miles.

So to follow up, I saw a thread just get bumped up that confirmed my suspicion. The performance cars and brakes have louder brakes in general, especially AMG.
I confirmed this with the service department at a Mercedes dealer.

Yes, I've experienced this as well I'm now around 10,000 KM and it eased down a bit but still there ... put some music and roll up the windows!

You need to properly "bed" the brakes upon delivery of the car? Ten (fast) stops from about 75 to 25 mph with a few minutes of cooling in between will "bed" the pads and allow for some glaze to adhere to the rotor? You do this with all new cars and when installing new pads!

Brake groan resonance noise
I've had my C43 for a little over a week, and the break groan was the first thing that caught me off guard.
However, everyone here seems to say it's normal.

In my car the noise/squeaking noise is gone. My car is about 6 months/11.000 kilometers. It says in the owners manual that this is normal for this kind of performance brakes. You only experience it in low speeds?

Hmmm,
OK - found the reference in the manual.
It only does it when releasing the brake pedal slowly (with the car in drive or reverse gear). Also when you hold the brake pedal down and shift from park to drive or reverse, the car obviously wants to move and the brakes groan a bit to stop it.
