Did you guys notice better MPG with the racechip? Can you give before/after numbers?

The figures are at the wheels not the crank. Taking 18% drivetrain loss brings us to ~450 hp and 495 lb tq at the crank. The measurements are done on a dyno of one of the tuners on this forum so no bias is involved on any level.

Vbox registered best run is 3.98 sec 0-60 @1,000 ft elevation and a full tank of gas.

I happened to come across this. Skip to 0:24 and you can see

Stock: 310.9hp@5600rpm, 344lb/ft@3500rpm
After: 343.1hp@5750rpm, 383lb/ft@3800rpm

Seeing how this was done in Thailand and the weather there is really really hot and humid, I think those figures look pretty good. No info on if this was a Dynojet, Mustang Dyno or Dynopack or what. But my guess is that it was definitely NOT a mustang dyno.

The best results were using the "go on increasing RPM" technique that's been discussed (brake, step on gas and release brake as RPMs hit about 2K ... don't wait, just release brake while RPMs are still rising and don't wait for the turbo-boost to get to maximum). The outside temperature was at 10 deg C (about 50 deg F) for the 4.00 sec result and at 15.5 deg C (about 60 deg F) for the 4.07 sec run, the roads were dry and the altitude is a few meters above sea level. I also turned traction control to the off setting and, of course, was in sport+ mode (with PE on). Even so, getting consistent launches/runs is very difficult in the C43 (stock or RaceChip). If I'd gotten a good launch with my 12.41 sec 1/4 mile run, it would likely have come in at around 12.15 to 12.2.

Car telemetry was captured by Harry's LapTimer and I was also using a Dual XGPS160 10 Hz GPS (though the speed for the timing data comes from the wheel speed, not the GPS).

My 2 best runs yielded a 0-100 time of 4.00 and 4.07 seconds (RaceChip set to Race mode). This compares to a RaceChip disabled mode of about 4.6 seconds, though maybe that would be down to 4.4-4.5 with this type of launch technique.

Since I've switched to winter rims/tires, it's unlikely that I'll get any more performance-run opportunities 'till next spring.

BTW, the RaceChip install hasn't changed the wonderful exhaust sounds that the C43's performance exhaust makes.

Here are videos of the 4.00 sec and 4.07 sec 0-100 runs:
[BTW, the boost PSI seems high ... I assumed the OBD reading was in bars and applied a conversion, FWIW]
Or as we used to say in the old days, flashing the converter :-)

- RaceChip on Race (du-oh!)
- Sport + (PE on)
- Traction control off
- auto-shifting

The good news is that DashCommand app reported the run as 12.41 seconds at 112.2 MPH. That's with a driver, about 3/4 tank of (92 octane, 10% ethanol -- standard for Washington state) fuel and an outside temperature of about 11 deg. C (about 52 deg. F).

The bad news is that I quit the DashCommand app after the run and when I got home and tried to look at the detailed data (expecting it would have been saved), I found that nothing was saved (seriously lame app behavior!).

I still plan to do some direct comparisons with and without the RaceChip enabled under the same conditions and will report the results when I do.

Update: I later was able to recover the telemetry data from my iPhone (using a utility).

I've found that getting consistent launches from a C43 is a significant issue. One will be "great" and the next three, seemingly doing the same thing, will be 1 second slower (e.g., to 100 kph). The launch on this run was mediocre. A better 1/4 mile run is definitely available, with a good launch.

Here's a video of the 1/4 mi in 12.41 sec at 112.2 mph run:

Ive done many many many drag races with turbo charged cars that don’t have launch mode (it’s for people who shouldn’t be racing a car. At all.) and what you wanna do, depending on which model you have engine size etc etc is hold the brake and hold the throttle and tach at around 2800-2900 rpm and then when you’re ready to go, obviously mash the gas and let off the brake. I have a C450 with rookie/launch mode in it and I’ve found this is the sweet spot for mimicking launch mode in the C450’s and C43’s. I’m not real sure about the C63’s, but who cares about those with their big old heavy engine blocks and extra body parts that add weight? I’ve not yet met a stock C63 that can put run my C450 and with the price of the car and modifications I’ve done, they’re spending a decent amount of extra cash on a V8 with a 63 badge on it. I take my badges off my cars and people have asked me if it’s a 63 a bunch of times. I love those people on here that think that just because it costs more their car is better LOL. Unless they do a lot more mods than I’ve done to my car, they would all be reading my rear license plate, and for most of them.. it probably wouldn’t be the cars fault 😂.

Also check out the BMS throttle tuner. HUGE difference in take off and shifting. I know it doesn’t add power, but it can/does shave time off the stopwatch for sure and it makes the car respond so much better. Our cars were built for old cranky yuppies who like the quiet and comfort. Thank god these companies out here are finally making Perf parts for us.

Hi everyone. Hope you are doing great.

Sorry to bring this thread from the grave but I'd like to know anyone ever did a Dyno test before and after racechip ultimate connect?
I know everyone will say go to AMR or other ECU tune and I know it's the right path but I still have my racechip stored for almost 4 years and it would be nice to get a couple extra HP without spending a buck.

Regards.

thank you so much for your answer. I've searched all over internet and seems to be very little info besides official racechip advertising.

Regards.

Still running my RaceChip on our 2017 C43 Sedan daily driver, always set to max performance. If you drive nicely, it appears to slightly improve mileage ... and if you drive aggressively, you'll feel (and can measure) the extra HP/torque. For me, it reduced 0-100 kph times by about 0.5 sec and is easy to uninstall if the car is still under warranty. If you have one just sitting there, why not use it?

Of course if you're looking for maximum performance (I was/am not), then there are other options that will better meet that goal.

Indeed I used to feel some difference as you said but that was 3 or 4 years ago. I will definitely install it back as it's been sitting in my shelf for years. Good to know you had it for years without any issue.

Thanks a lot for you answer
