Are there backup camera sounds?

Just got a C43 coupe and not being familiar with its dimensions yet am definitely using the backup camera to assess things. I don't have the parking assist package and am wondering if there are any audible warnings when you get close to an object? Or is it all visual, and if so what am I looking for on the screen to alert me?

The camera itself won't make any noise but I think you should get a warning when you get real close to something. In your rear view mirror, close to the bottom of the rear windscreen you should get a strip that lights up from yellow to red. On red, which indicates you're close to hitting something, you should be beeped. This comes from the sensors in bumpers.

HTH and makes sense...

I think the strip is a part of the parking assist package

What about the beep? Is this standard equipment?

According to NYCSoiL, it seems the strip is part of the parking assist package and the beep is part of that. I'm in the UK and I didn't see that option when I configured a C43. So you're going to have to add that in.

I don't have the advanced parking pack on my car. I has a camera in the rear, but no sonar front or rear.
The only sound I get is a crunch if I bump the car behind me.

C43 AMG Coupe
I understand the draw to the beeping noise. But, in some ways, I feel that if you are able to smash your 60K+ vehicle into another with an HD camera strapped on to the back with no lag visually, maybe it was meant to be that way. Perhaps they could install a hydraulic boxing glove in the steering wheel to really let you know when you get too close.
