Why Does Mercedes Me Suck So Bad?
Yet again, Mercedes Me has left me literally in the cold...this morning I attempted to remote start my frost covered car before heading out to work, and all I got was a text messages stating:
"Your Mercedes-Benz vehicle could not be started remotely because an error occurred. Try again or call the mbrace Response Center at 1-866-990-9007"
Oh, and I did...and gave them a ration of $h!t. My service has not expired (2016 C450), I'm running the most current app on my iphone, I have no trees on my property, gas tank was full, the doors were locked, and my gas cap was tightly closed. It's safe to say at least half the time I try to remote start my car, the system does not work for me.
I can't believe people actually pay money to extend this horribly unreliable service!

Mine hardly ever works. Just to note, it will not start if the door are unlocked, or there is less than 5 gal of fuel in the tank.

Mine only worked for a month or two before it started to give me error messages and then it logged me out and my password wasn't working (maybe I had it wrong) so I couldn't get into my account. With the errors it was giving me and how disappointed I was in the whole experience with it, I just didn't care enough to put any effort into using it anymore.
I gotta say, I was really excited about it at first. Having a remote start function and a few other features and controls via an app on my phone? This was an awesome new experience for me. But then I was pretty much immediately let down with it. I was mainly disappointed in the fact that no matter how you entered the car after you remote started it, it would shut off and then you have to restart it. The thing has some amazing potential and it really wouldn't take much to capitalize on it but it's like they didn't even try.

I think it’s 3 gallons needed (not 5) for remote start bc I got a similar message last week. But anyway I agree I wouldn’t pay for the service either if it wasn’t free ( mbrace® Connect 5-year Complimentary service).

Its so awful I haven't used it in a while and your post made me want to try it again. I had a pretty long walk ahead of me so I went ahead and started the process. After a 5 minute walk and when I was about 30 feet from my car it finally logged in. Pretty useless. A class action lawsuit forcing them to make the product that they advertise work might be in order.

Mercedes me does suck big time, The salesmen kept pushing it and I told them it was junk. When I went to pickup my car it would not work. This is why I installed Mid City Engineering remote starter. I always start and never had a problem. Doors and windows can be open with no gas in the tank and it will start. I have also remote started and opened the doors from 1200 miles away. I had to try.

I find it odd that MB doesn't offer a remote starter via the FOB like everyone else does. Starting through a phone app takes so many more steps. I was genuinely shocked when I switched from Caddy to Mercedes to find that a FOB starter wasn't standard. Don't get me wrong: the phone app can be useful too if you are too far away for the FOB to reach the car. GM offers something similar via OnStart. But I do miss the easy FOB starter.

yes, I have been to Svalbard to see the bears! Better go while you can, it is warming fast.

Oh, and New Years in Sydney, then a lovely three week cruise to the Great Barrier Reef and environs-who knows, I might go to Churchill in the Spring to see the bears!
Who cares about Mercedes Me?
