Hey, I been reading up on your thread and I really appreciate all you efforts.
Now it seems like the only thing I am missing is to put 14u i VeDoc.
When trying that I get an error saying I don't have permission to add code 14u to my vin and something about a license fee.
Do you have the possibility to add that and whats the cost if so?

you would lost certain command functions such as the oem nav. also if you didnt replace screen it would look smaller like the below picture. a dealer ship would not be able to do this as there is no official retrofit. i am in detroit michigan if you are close and can do the complete retorfit.
Awesome write up. Kuddos. So, this is a pic of an 8.4" screen with a head unit from a smaller screen? Might be livable, but not ideal. Do you think it's possible to retrofit a newer 8.4" screen with Carplay/Android auto to a <2018 W205 with 8.4" screen with OEM NAV? Or does this not exist?
I wanted to give a final update to this thread with clear part numbers and pictures.

So the final part numbers you will need are:
1. 2059004533, 2059005136, or 2059009037 which is the new Panasonic head unit. If you buy used, make sure its not stolen!!!, you will need to get an anti theft key. PM me to retrieve the key. It will cost some $$$ unfortunately as I do not have a free way of getting it.
2. 2538206100, new card reader
3. 2535404021 wire harness.
Extra Fuse Part number in case you blow it when changing wiring. It is a 5 amp Multi fuse. Goes in slot two in passenger foot well fuse box.
000000-006465
Once you have all these parts the only tools you need are:
1. T20 torx screw driver.
2. Plastic Panel Removing Tools. (optional but recommended)
3. Mercedes Benz Radio Removal Keys or the like. (see picture to get card reader out).
4. small flat screw driver.
5. Paper clip (to depin connectors)
Steps.
1. Remove console. Many youtube videos online to do this in the w205 chassis. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFn6aVIQ-ss
2. Remove and replace radio with new radio. All connections will be the same.
3. Remove and replace card reader with keys.
4. Remove connectors from new wiring harness.
5. remove connector from original harnesss tape back. Leave purple wire attached.
6. attache new connectors to original installed harness. see attached PDF document.
7. Code with MB Star diag system.
8. enjoy.
Hi again Star4Life
Sorry again for bugging you. I've spent some time this afternoon with a friend who has the access to the Mercedes EPC, and we've been trying to confirm UK part numbers for the conversion on my 2016 C200.
Particularly, you mention in this post that you need:
"1. 2059004533, 2059005136, or 2059009037 which is the new Panasonic head unit. If you buy used, make sure its not stolen!!!, you will need to get an anti theft key. PM me to retrieve the key. It will cost some $$$ unfortunately as I do not have a free way of getting it.
2. 2538206100, new card reader
3. 2535404021 wire harness."
A couple of questions:
1) Earlier in the thread you say the wiring harness is A2055401724 and now you're saying it's A2535404021?
2) You say you need 'a' wiring harness, but then you show the process for 're-pinning' the harness. Is this needed as well or instead of the above?
I'm more perplexed because I searched eBay for the radio part number for the Euro 2018+ audio 20 head unit and stumbled upon this completed auction from December. If you look at the code on the wire in picture 5 you'll see it's A2055401724!
One more thing - I can't see an attached PDF?
Many thanks for your continued assistance!
Simon

i was getting too many requests for this so I took 2 key pieces of info down to limit my pms. if you are smart you can still figure this out with the puzzle pieces i gave you. if you want the answer pm me but will cost some money to share the documents. everyone wants things for free without doing any of thier own obvious thinking,
The aftermarket approach is much cheaper than trying to OEM convert:
There is a wireless version of the CarPlay AND (wired) Android Auto version available now. I tried it and it works well! No need to plug in your lightning cable anymore. There's an ebay auction here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/303121978375 , however you can message the seller directly for a discounted price (no ebay fees): djfrestyler@aol.com. Include you VIN number for exact pricing. Price is ~$500-$600, depending on your Screen option
Also, SardinCar has a newer cabled version (also CarPlay and Android Auto) available which works 10x better than the old version too. A friend has that in his C-Class and that also works great! It's a bit cheaper than the wireless version ~$425. You can message a US reseller for that version at sardincarusa@gmail.com
UPDATE - June 2019 Some feedback on those two -
Wired - SardinCar scrapped their previous version. It was faulty. They are selling a new one now contact: sardincarusa@gmail.com PROs:
Fast charge w/10W+W charger + USB-C-Lightning cable
Good install instructions
CONs
Occasionally loses connection
Have to install an extra microphone
More expensive than wired version
No Android Auto - only mirroring
Have to install external microphone
Install is easy. Takes 1-2 hrs. Tools and detailed instructions are included for either if you contact the emails above. US resellers made their own instructions. Makes it easy. This works for 2015-2018 W205 cars. Send VIN for seller to verify compatibility. Good luck!
Hope this helps!

WE DID IT! For those considering this solution and have even a minor amount of technical/mechanical ability you can rest assured it works perfectly. After looking through various options to integrate CP/AA I finally spoke to “Star” and decided to purchase this solution from him. Everything arrived in about 10 days and I immediately thought I had bitten off more than I could chew. I read through this stream for the 10th time, watched available videos, made sure I had the tools suggested and got after it. The biggest struggle I encountered was de-pinning a few wires and then deciding where/how to route a new power source for the USB/Card panel. Star was available to assist at every step and in about 4 hours of total time I was installed, coded, and enjoying a seamless OEM upgraded unit. Star did all the leg work to figure this out, sourced the equipment, and kudos go out to him for sharing and offering his expertise. Great job!
I just purchased a 2017 C300 with Audio 20 and after reading through these forums and trying to decide on an approach to adding CarPlay/Android Auto to the sedan (I have both kinds of phones). I contacted SardinCar; is there recent feedback on the Limcet Wireless solution they are recommending? Any other options I should be considering, especially for someone who doesn't have experience mucking with their cars at all?

if you have audio 20, the easiest and best carplay/android upgrade is doing oem which i can help with. it is flawless and 100 times better than any aftermarket system. id look at joyeauto for aftermarket units. thats what i use for peoples car. i can help if you need. just pm me. i have done plenty of these retrofits.
Hi,
I tried the Chinese solution for CarPlay-AndridAuto on my 2015. W205 but I am not satisfied with it, the sound is terrible, performance is laggy it disconnects often and sometimes freezes completely,
I will try OEM retrofit as soon I find someone to code it for me. My local dealer told me that it is not possible to retrofit to newer Audio 20.

Today I have bought A2055401724 and 20 euros lost. That is not the reference.
2535404021 is the reference for GLC
Does anyone know the european reference for harness of card reader for w205?
I have found this but I am not sure and I dont want to lose more money
Hi, I have one problem - SW 18/31.
Do you have any answer for this time?
Is it possible to downgrade to older software via vediamo? - if so, which version should I come back to?
Replaced HU for panasonic, usb port for 2538206100, added to VeDoc SA 154, 16U and 17U. Thanks for any help.
