What’s up guys, wanted to hear what mods you’ve done and recommend, could be both cosmetic and performance wise. Thanks!

I don't know too much about mods but easiest and best performance mod is to get your ECU tuned.

There are a thousand threads on this forum and on google about which tuning companies are reputable and give the best performance.

tune is already pretty much chosen just finding the time. I was wondering if there was a good air filter people recommend and other smaller upgrades like that since I’m not to knowledgeable about these cars yet.

Oh boy the ECU Tune changes the car. Other than downpipes I have not seen many other mods which impact performance. It seems like most of the cosmetic changes are tires/wheels and wraps or paint to either blackout spoilers, grills, chrome etc.

Yeah ECU tune (looking at you AMR) and downpipes will prob be done in the spring. Car came with night and studio package so a lot of the accents are black already. Will look into making door handles, badges and wings in grille black too. I don’t wanna use plasti dip or vinyl wrap, you guys recommend finding a good shop to paint it black? And yes, the AMG pins for the door lock is on the list.

Are those door pins really that cool? They cost like 100+ from what I recall on the website. I'm sure there are aftermarket ones for cheaper but still...

If I understand it correctly those door pins give the car an extra 75hp and 83Tq at the rear wheels...

Might be worth a looksy

Door pins are a cheap modification that make the car look nicer than the cheap plastic ones. I recommend them also

Yeah I was watching that long thread about how good the JB1 is, but it requires some fine tuning to get it just right. Tunes from either a full ECU flash to a piggy back are a difficult decision. Ill spend a few months weighing the options and figure it out in the spring time.

Thanks for the serious answer. I don't see how the others were comparing my question to "adding stickers." I don't have my car yet and I definitely did not look for the door pins when considering a car...

as soon as you get the car you'll see what we mean. My Audi(s) didn't have door pins, just an LED to indicate locked. I honestly think that is a better solution to physical door pins...but if you have to have them, they may as well look the part. The plastic ones look like they came out of $20K budget auto...base model.

Exactly! I hate that Mercedes still uses physical door pins. My 2002 A4 didn't even have them. Just a single LED on the drivers door and nothing on the other 3 doors. Very slick.

And they aren't even functional. Maybe you can push them down (I haven't tried) but you certainly can't pull up on them. Nor would you even want to as there is a button for this. What is the point?

I agree on the door pins--I added the OEM Mercedes ones for the C-Class (Part # 0007660800). I was in a C300 loaner and the standard black plastic ones really do look cheap.

Another popular modification is the C63 rear diffuser and exhaust tip swap. The sedans are a direct swap as the C43 and C63 use the same bumper cover. I am not entirely sure of the details of the swap for coupes.

Nothing like a non-functional feature taking up room and cost.
