Check Engine Light in Cold Weather

It was well below freezing last night and my car started up fine, but I noticed the check engine light was on. The car also ran fine and I did not notice it going into a sort of limp mode. I turned the car off and on a few times and the check engine light never came back on. Has anyone else experienced this? I checked the gas cap and it was tight. Does anyone know if the car will store whatever caused it to throw this code despite now that the light is off?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, could be anything that triggered it (misfire, etc.). I haven't experienced this on my C43, but for a few of my other cars over the years this has happened. I pulled codes on other cars and attributed it to a film of moisture that froze and then evaporated as things warmed up.
