C43 Coupe vs Sedan weight

2017 C43 AMG (W205), 2012 AM Vantage V12, 1989 964
C43 Coupe vs Sedan weight
I was checking out the MBUSA website and I found that they state on the specs:

Coupe 3,968 lbs
Sedan 3,759 lbs

Does anyone know why a couple would weigh 200 lbs more than a sedan that has more doors?

IIRC, the coupe shares cabrio DNA, meaning it has additional weight from additional structural rigidity in place for the cabrio. No roof means the chassis flexes a lot so additional bracing is required elsewhere in the car.

But, someone will correct me if I am wrong.

The cab weighs even more than the coupe even with th soft top. The extra reinforcements used on cabs to counter flex doesn't exist in coupes in general. From all the posts I've read the coupe weighs more than the sedan because of the panoramic glass roof

sedan should be the faster model in a straight line (sans pano roof).

Wonder what the weight of thr Wagon with Pano Roof is ?
EU curb weight is only quoted as 15 kgs higher than coupe and +55kgs over saloon,

I also noticed that my 2016 c300 had aluminum doors while my 2017 C43 has huge steel heavy doors

yes I also did a repair to both passenger front and rear door in my C300 after I got tboned had to use a Aluminum tig welder to repair the damage

I think it’s for safety reasons because the coupe is overall a smaller car with no additional pillar like a sedan has between doors
