Faulty Dinan unit

So I finally got around to installing my Dinan Elite today, install went fairly smoothly, all the sensors installed, cables run and zip tied, unit secured, put everything back together. Went to start it up. Car wouldn't even start. Just turned over and was making some disturbing shuttering type sound. Got Dinan on the phone and we double checked everything and they couldn't find any problem so assume it's a faulty unit and will be sending me a new one next week to try. Went back to stock, started it up and car is in limp mode. Arghh, going to get an obdII tomorrow to clear it. Such a frustration experience.

Im so glad I didnt get the Dinan. It feels like all I ever read like are either it doesnt feel that different or waiting for install cause instructions are vague or faulty unit threads

I feel the exact same way. I figured there were bound to be a bunch of mishaps with this. I bit the bullet and got an AMR tune and I couldn't be happier. Easy and smooth process with amazing gains

I picked my unit based solely on this 1 criteria:

- which unit has the most real world data?

I'm going to give them one more try with the replacement unit and then if that doesn't work, will be demanding a refund and will go with a different tune.

Make sure you connect the car the STAR DAS and delete all the soft codes stores in the ECU. There are MB specific codes that a generic OBD reader will not pick up.
