Retrofit Android Auto
Hi all,
My MY2018 C43 doesn't have CarPlay / Android auto. I've seen conflicting information on how to enable this and I would appreciate some help clarifying the situation.
My dealer isn't being particularly helpful, they state it cannot be retrofitted yet I can see you can specify it as an option on new builds now.
From what I understand it can be enabled by plugging a device into the obd2 port. I've seen these for sale on eBay e.g.

Is it as simple as buying one of these units, plugging it in and hey presto or do I also need other items?

you need to check your head unit part number. If you have latest part it can be activated with obd2 module or coding with someone who knows what they are doing. Most likely someone at mercedes dealer can do it but the guys up front cant go around retorfitting stuff MB OEM hasnt approved as an official retrofit
