I found some additional info to read for any of my fellow Canadians who didn't find all the 2019 info.

I assumed it was a C43 because that's what the video said and why would a girl like that drive a 300? On a 2nd look, yes it is a 300 so maybe the cab does get quad exhaust. I still like my real gauges though far better than that electronic crap. That would make me feel like I was driving an ipad. One thing for sure, Porsche isn't doing that and I bet they never will. The long ipad in the e-class just laying there without even enclosing the ends looks like crap IMO.

Has anyone else noticed that they are now calling the 9 speed transmission on the 2019 C43 an AMG “Speedshift” transmission and not a 9G-Tronic. Did the 2019 get a new tranny? The 2018 is not marketed as a Speedshift.

Speedshift is definitely a new word from what I can recall.
Anyone have a definitive answer?

AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission with shorter shift times.
The C 43 4MATIC makes use of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission, which the Mercedes-AMG developers have tuned specifically for a dynamic driving experience. This has a model-specific software application to achieve very short shift times.
The multiple downshift function allows more spontaneous bursts of speed, while the double-declutching function in "Sport" and "Sport+" drive programs makes for an even more emotional driving experience. Defined ignition adjustments also provide faster gear shifts in the other modes. In all modes moving off occurs in first gear in order to always guarantee a dynamic driving experience.
"Manual" mode can be selected using a separate button in the centre console. The gear changes are based on the selected drive program, and the driver can now change gear using the paddles on the steering wheel. Moreover, the transmission stays in the selected gear and does not automatically shift up when the engine speed reaches redline.

Also note, the C63 is now using a nine speed tranny. I think the C63 and the C43 now share the same transmission for 2019. Isn’t that a pretty big change, even bigger than the horsepower change.
The 2019 is looking like a beastly car to me. I am not sure the changes are as subtle as some are suggesting.
This looks like a significant change to me. Unfortunately I ordered a 2018 for May delivery but my lease is up on my C300 and I can’t wait for this new model. Also, good luck getting a deal at launch.
Money factor has come down quite a bit on the 2018 in the last month or so...good lease deals to be had on the 2018s if you know how to negotiate. But the 2019 looks like the bees knees to me for the tranny alone.

I think you are right. It looks like C43 has a TCT 9 speed Speedshift -- not sure if that is the same as the 2018 because the 2018 tranny was never called Speedshift. The C63 has a MCT 9 Speed. So two different transmissions but damn they are doing their best to muddle the distinction by now calling the C43 9 Speed a "Speedshift." Looks like marketing.

This is the same company that calls an exhaust that adds no power PERFORMANCE EXHAUST

once they are officially out, I am ordering the facelift grill for my 17 to separate it from the c300s. IMO the blade grill looks better than the new panamara grill on the c63. but i think it comes down to preference. both can look good. i can take or leave all the other features and i am sure the power increase is just a tune at this point as the c63 didnt get new turbos so i doubt the c43 did.

I am pretty sure from the order guide the tranny is just renamed. They actually refer to it as renamed Speedshift. It is not a new tranny, I am pretty confident.
The biggest difference in my opinion apart from the cosmetics is the new steering wheel which is now a performance wheel standard with nappa leather and 12:00 indicator. Alcantara inserts are option for $500 as before but the base wheel is identicial in all other respects it seems. Also, the headlights are now standard redesigned LEDs for better performance. I never thought the old LEDs threw enough light so this could be significant.
Obviously the bigger screen is nice and the optional instrument cluster screen is nice depending on the price.
Ambient lighting is now a standalone option which is nice.
You can now get saddle brown leather and natural burl wood trim which is nice for a more luxurious scheme inside.
They hit a lot of items on my punch list of things I didn't like about the 2018. I think the 2019 C classes are going to be a great cars across the entire line, including C300. I would hold out for a 2019 if you can if only because it offers some spec combinations that aren't presently available in the 2018. I easily would have gone with standard brown leather and burl wood if that was an option--very classy.

I dunno. If torque is the same, 0-60 is the same, but HP is increased, isn't it safe to say whatever they did was for marketing purposes or to stay at parity or above what they perceive to be competing vehicles? Sort of like renaming the Tranny "Speedshift".

Car and driver saying the turbos are bigger
“A pair of bigger turbochargers helps the 3.0-liter V-6 produce 23 more horsepower than last year’s car.“
