Device unavailable

My car for last two days has been saying device unavailable and my radio and satellite radio aren’t working.

Any ideas?

When I had this issue on my 2018 a week after taking delivery, I took it to the dealer, and they replaced a wireless communication module in the trunk under warranty. Everything has worked perfectly since then. They told me that the module had a short from the factory, and that it's somewhat common for them to fail within the first few weeks of owning the car.

I would try resetting the COMAND unit. Start the car and press and hold the eject button on the CD player.

My one has a stuck navigation screen, saying Activating Navigation, Please Wait. Dropped it at the dealer this week. Will update as soon as it is fixed.

I got the same thing last week and my car GPS, phone, radio, etc has all been unusable since The dealer reported a bulletin that says this:

Do not perform SW updates via Xentry on 205 Audio 20 HU: Currently there seems to be some incompatibility between Audio 20 Head-Units and the Xentry machines. Currently only known fix is a HU replacyemenet. To mitigate the request for Audio 20 HUs, please do not update the Audio 20 on 205 vehicles while this topic is under investigation.

My dealer told me that a patch is in the works and that it is a national issue. I hope they get a fix soon. I just bought this as my first Benz only 4 months ago and this is what I get.....

Device unavailable

My 2015 C300 got hit last Tuesday - Drove to golf course, no problem, Drove home -no navigation, no Bluetooth, no sat radio. Dealer service advisor says rash of problems caused by a wireless SW download. Dealer was able to restore (at no charge) nav and Bluetooth based on very recent advice from MB, but sat radio is still shows "device unavailable". Service advisor says MB is working on it and will call when they have a fix.

Device Unavailable (c300)

I have had the same issue for 2 weeks: When I try to switch to Sat Radio, I get the 'Device Unavailable' message. I have tried resetting (by holding down the eject button for 15 seconds) but the issue is still happening.

Additionally, even though my Navi still works, the Traffic Notifications do not (I'm assuming that is because they are received via the Sat module)?

I have an appointment at the Dealership on Monday to see if they can rectify. This is my first Mercedes and I've only had this one (used from the Dealership) for a year - it's just out of the 50,000 mile Warranty, so it will be interesting to see what they have to say! I'll keep you all posted.

So, Long story short, needed a new Sat Module which fixed both the Sat Radio and my Live Navi information!

Great News just 1000 miles out of Warranty! Yay!

Device unavailable Radio fix

I had this issue with my radio only. I tried resetting the command and also disconnecting the battery but this didn’t work. In the end I found the fuse for the Radio using the fuse allocation chart (all details can be found in the manual) I took the fuse out and put it back in and it’s fixed.
