Hi, can an alignment issue or an issue with a faulty camber cause premature tire wear only on the front tires? Tires are showing excessive wear at only 6400 miles an only on the outside the tire

interesting that I leased the vehicle with 2600 miles on it already since it was a demo and the only service that was done was the PDI. Nothing else was done prior.

Maybe it slipped past manufacturer delivery, maybe it was driven by someone before it was given back to the dealership as a "demo", there are so many factors that could lead to premature tire wear. Just so you know, the C43 experiences this problem quite badly due to our camber. Owners from this forum who are hard on their car usually change out their OEM run-flats at 7000-10000km. Perhaps you just have higher expectations of tread life than others. Who knows.

It's pretty obvious that tire wear increases as alignment changes. Last time I checked, the front and rear axles were independent from each other.

it was one of the managers demo, balance was done in Dec at 4600 miles since I had learned that the tire pressures were off. There was no mention of any issue with the tires then and I find it hard to believe that less than 2000 miles later and the front tires are shot. The car is all wheel drive, why just the fronts?

There are a lot more components for the front end suspension than the rear, any failure, failure to adjust for any of those parts will throw off the alignment leading to uneven wear. There could be a thousand reasons why its off (pothole strikes, etc.) that may have caused it. Im glad you didn't have a tire blowout while driving. Hope this gets resolved by the dealer.

thanks, I don’t have a lot of hope that the dealer will do anything, going to contact Corporate.
