So I asked "The Twitter" what was up, on the official AMG-MB page. I appreciate the reply, but no news.......
"Sometimes our vehicles experience delays due to many factors, many of which are out of our control.... We feel very sorry for the inconvenience! In order to clarify, we recommend contacting our relevant US department by calling 800-367-6372."
We return to our regularly scheduled rumors and innuendo.....

From what Ive read, I think its supposed to soak up most of the force of a collision in such a circumstance so as to protect the framework of the car better and the underlying components like exhaust etc.
I guess minimize damage and cost after an incident
Previous people whove removed them have said they are filled with Styrofoam. Apparently. all of the MB coupes have it and even Porsches.

My 2019 C43 Cabriolet has arrived; I’m taking delivery this afternoon! Feel a little silly buying a convertible with snow on the ground, it will be great to have it when the sun returns. My specs:
Graphite Grey Metallic
Black MBTex/Dinamica with red stiching
Red seat belts
AMG performance steering wheel in Napa
18” RSJ wheels
AMG performance exhaust
black ash wood center console
aluminum door trim
black soft top
heated front seats
I’m so excited. Great to have this forum to share the excitement with

Wow, there seems to be quite a few other posters that ordered the car in brilliant blue. I ordered a C43 sedan from Steve and Shahul in brilliant blue as well. I'm scheduled for production in the 2nd decade of December. I can't wait to drive down to MD to pick the car up from them later this month!

@@Mayur999 You finally got your car, that was a helluva wait, but no doubt worth it because it looks awesome.
On your center console you selected wood, what color is that? It looks different than the wood I've seen here in the states, (more blackish in the U.S.).
Perhaps, it is the lighting, but the interior color combination looks incredible. Hope you get to drive it before the serious winter weather arrives.

Hey man. Thank you very much.
Its Anthracite Oak Wood Open Pore Trim (It has a dark grey tone to it). Initially, I went for the Dark Ash Open Pore wood trim but that could not be selected when it came closer to build, so I changed it to the Anthracite. Really like it. No gloss or fingerprints and super sleek.
Interior is otherwise black leather with red top stitching.
