Hard decision to make.
So I just bought a c450 in new like condition with under 10k miles. I love it. However, I have been considering buying or leasing a new 2018 c43 with everything I want, it has. I will lose around 4k on the c450 that I have only had for a month and a half and the pre-paid maintenance.
I can quite seem to make up my mind on this. I know financially it is a very dumb idea, but I did enjoy the c43 better. It is close how ever.

I would go back to your salesman, explain the situation and see what he can do. He would be more than happy to sell you another car, but I'd be willing to bet that it will cost you a good deal more than 4k to switch out.

Leasing will help eat up the negative equity, but I would just keep your car. My opinion is that they are too similar to spend that much money upgrading to the C43. Get the new JB4 that just came out, an exhaust, and call it a day. Much less expensive alternative.

I do have a AWE Touring exhaust that is scheduled to be installed this Tuesday which is why I need to make a decision quickly. As for the JB4, someone here just noted that he lost all the cracks and pops on his c450 when he installed the JB piggyback. That is a deal breaker for me if it indeed does that.

I think something I would ask yourself would be, if you chose to get it, “I am driving practically the same car with different badges and threw a bunch of money down a hole to do so.” If you can reconcile that and can do it financially then it’s all good, otherwise you may look at the car (every day you step out your front door) and often think ah I made a mistake.

Yeah no point getting 2018. The 2019 interior is absolutely gorg. The person who lost the crackles with the JB4 might have a botched install too. So do not set by it. Does other c450 owners have the same issue?

I have a C450 w/ JB1. I have the cracks and pops, it actually made them louder. I put a AWE track exhaust on and love it! I also had similar thoughts as you do, but I wouldn't take the hit, the cars are so similar. I got mine for a steal at 44k to go to to C43 would be a huge loss financially, for some badges and a different tranny. Mine is fully loaded so I'm sure that helps..

As someone with a C43, I'd say keep your 450, they're way too similar to waste that much money. Plus you could take all the money you'd spend and use it to upgrade your 450 and make it much nicer than a stock 43 (tune, exhaust/downpipes, clear bra/ceramic coat, tint, body parts (splitter/side sills/diffuser etc.), wheels and so on).

Kept the car and had the AWE touring exhaust installed today. I must say, there seems to be more cracks and pops and they are louder. However, from inside the car, there doesn't seem to be a huge difference in decibel levels between stock and the touring.

I absolutely do not see the point in spending an extra 4k to have what is basically the same car but with less warranty and spending 4k extra in the process.
Just keep the cash or trade up to something else entirely. But dont spend 4k to do some sideways move.

It would have cost much more than 4k that's for sure. I kept my car.

It's the same car and engine essentially. So I would either keep your 450 or switch into the 2019 when it arrives as that one may very well be worth the net financial loss.

They will re-badge a C450 to a C43 if you really want them to. My service advisor offered me that way back, I passed lol. I find the C450 super unique as people on the streets seem to have never heard of it and tend to stare. Prob had to do with the fact that there are tons of C300s around here, so seeing a C450 is like #???
