Do I need to sign anything when preordering?

I just got back from the dealer and got a very good deal. But the dealer only submitted the order without asking me to sign anything / drop any deposit. They say I will pay when picking up the car. Realizing that, I am kind of worried that the negotiated discount % will change when I pick up the car since the discount is only agreed verbally, and the car will be picked up three months later, which is a long time.

So I would like to know if you guys signed anything regarding the negotiated discount % when the dealer submitted the build order for you?

I would ask them to email you a copy of the build sheet as submitted to MB via Netstar. Sometimes mistakes happen and you should double check it now to be sure that the actual order matches what you want.

so when i went in, he made me sign a sheet with the agreed price including the 8% discount. I got a build sheet and I put a 500 deposit. The next day he put in the order and told me what week in October it would be build. And ask me to fill a credit application I told him I would do it when we get closer to delivery date.

just depends. You should not be worried about the fact you didn't sign anything IMO. I have ordered cars numerous times and never signed or put a deposit down, but that is usually with a standing relationship with said dealer. I would want something stating the negotiated rates as to ensure you don't have to play the he said she said game. But, if they try to pull that on you, you can obviously just walk.. Albeit if you're ordering a car that's not a scenario most want to be in.

Just tell them you would like a copy of the sales menu so you can shop around for rates. They shouldn’t have a problem with that.
