Winter Tires for a car I don't have yet !!!
I'm in Ordered, but not Cleared purgatory on my C43.
The car has 18 inch wheels stock (I read the forums and passed on 19's as the car is a DD).
Since it's already winter tire season, I have to re shod the new car before I get it. I'm going to go non staggered (and non RFT) for the snow tires so they can be rotated-past experience has shown directional staggered can't be rotated.
I did this in the past with a BMW. Staggered 17 inch wheels replaced with 16 inch equal tires. Never had issues in the winter and I could wait until the highway department fills the potholes before breaking out the summer tires. Worked well for the ten or so years I had that car. (MSport 330i)
Will a 17 inch wheel, the OE size for the base car, clear the C43 calipers ? Anyone tried it ? In the alternate I will go with four 225/45 or 50 series on an 18 inch...
TIA. Will she ever arrive ????
