2016 C450 AMG Reliability/Cost of Ownership

Hi, I’d like to hear some real world experience with the C450. I’m in the final stages of preparing to buy a CPO model in Canada with fairly low mileage. (40,000km) I’m wondering what the experience has been for people who bought these cars new and have been driving them since 2016. Any insight is appreciated. What costs have you incurred, or what types of maintenance have you been surprised with? Thank you.

I've had mine for almost 2 years now. No issues.

I negotiated prepaid maintenance which is nice. Other than a speeding ticket, gas, and insurance, I'm on my second set of new tires (the way I drive lol) and maybe new brake pads.. but can't remember.

I'm actually about to hit 40k miles on mine and have my scheduled maintenance in a week. I think my prepaid plan is up

I don’t think it’s possible to have air suspension on a C450?

The C450 has been more reliable than my previous Japanese luxury cars. Some warranty repairs for cosmetic stuff but nothing that makes the car undriveable.

Ride is harsh and stiff. It’s too much for city driving.

You are right, it doesn’t have air suspension. I’ve been looking at too many cars lately. Been working on this for a couple months.

Your vote of confidence is encouraging, though. Thanks for the help. I’m going to edit my post.

Pre-ordered my C450 back in May 2015, received it 3rd week of September 2015.

After 32K miles (I split my driving between 3 vehicles) there has not been a single hiccup. I drove in S+ since the car had 3miles on it, AMR tuned at 5k miles.

I'm also still on my original brake pads with over 50% meat left. I drive pretty aggressively but I don't race to red lights neither do I tailgate.

Aside from the prepaid maintenance there hasnt been any other expenses related to the car.

The only things I would say that's problematic of our car is excessive brake dust and brake squeals

I agree. Brake dust builds up quickly. Like 2-3 days after a car wash it will cover the wheels.
I have brake screeching in hot weather. None in cold weather.
I had wheel and tire protection so when I got tire bubbles they got replaced.

Just make sure you are ok with the stiff ride. It’s the only thing that bothers me some days.
